Tsouloftas Survives on the River
Alessandro Pichierri limped in from the small blind, Elias Vaaraniemi raised to 50,000 in the big blind, and Pichierri called.
The flop came A♦6♦3♦ and Vaaraniemi bet 30,000. Pichierri called and they both checked the 4♥ turn.
Vaaraniemi bet another 105,000 on the 6♣ river, and Pichierri called. Vaaraniemi then showed A♣10♥ for two pair and Pichierri mucked.
The next hand, Pichierri three-bet to 70,000 on the button after Georgios Tsouloftas opened in the cutoff. The table debated whether Tsouloftas' shot clock should be extended to 30 seconds and called the floor over before Tsouloftas shoved for 340,000. Pichierri quickly called.
Georgios Tsouloftas: K♥8♥
Alessandro Pichierri: A♦J♦
Pichierri hit top pair on the J♠5♣2♦ flop, while the Q♥ turn left Tsouloftas a card away from elimination. The river, though, was the K♠ and Tsouloftas jumped from his seat after hitting a pair of kings to earn a double up.
