De Mel Releases Big Slick

Barry Greenstein raised to 1,100 from early position, but was three-bet to 4,000 by the next player along.

Priyan de Mel, on the cut-off, began squirming in his seat like a frog in a blender, seemingly perplexed by the decision ahead.

In the end, he made the fold, albeit a loud one as he knocked over a beer bottle by his feet.

The action rippled its way around to Greenstein who immediately released his hand, allowing the agressor to take the pot.

"I had {A-}{K-}," claimed de Mel.

"You had three outs," revealed the three-bettor as he showed {K-}{K-}. "I thought you had queens. I was like, 'Ship it iiiiiiin!'"

De Mel: 25,500
Greenstein: 17,000

A Fighting Chance

Toby Lewis opened to 1,000 before Chance Kornuth made it 2,325 next to him. The button flat-called and Lewis folded.

Kornuth then bet a surprisingly small 450 on the {3-Diamonds} {6-Clubs} {2-Diamonds} flop, the button raised to 950 and Kornuth made it 2,000. The button instantly folded.

Kornuth is slowly rebuilding his stack around the 20,000 mark of which he had much earlier.

32 players remain.

Dion Takes One Off De Mel

Yann Dion raised to 900 from under the gun and Priyan de Mel defended his small blind.

On the {J-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} flop, de Mel check-raised Dion's continuation bet of 1,100 to 2,500. Dion called.

The turn came the {10-Diamonds}, and with little hesitation, de Mel reached into his column of purple chips to fire out a bet of 2,500.

"All-in," announced Dion in a Terminator tone.

After requesting a count ("12,600," came the reply), de Mel relinquished his hand and Dion took it down. As a result, de Mel has slipped slightly to 17,500.

Bowker Doesn't Show

On a {2-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{9-Clubs} board, Kyle Bowker bet out 3,000 into a pot of around 7,500.

"You can't be bluffing," mused his opponent as he released his hand. "I'd hate to see a bluff."

He didn't see a bluff, but then again, he didn't see a strong hand either as Bowker slid his cards face-down across the felt.

Bowker is starting to gather momentum now; he has 31,000.

Lichtenberger Clubs A Short Stack In The Face

Andrew Lichtenberger. Approves of this message.

In middle position, one of the many short stacks appearing in this tournament moved all-in preflop for 5,100 and a wordless Andrew Lichtenberger flat-called next to him. It was passed around to the big-stack big blind who tanked for several moments before eventually folding what he would later say was {A-Diamonds} {K-Diamonds}.

Short stack: {A-Spades} {J-Spades}
Lichtenberger: {K-Clubs} {K-Hearts}

The flop came {10-Clubs} {7-Clubs} {A-Clubs} and the big stack looked miserable while the all-in shorty pleaded, "No club."

He got his request on the {10-Spades} turn, but the river was the {4-Clubs} and "Luckychewy" now has 52,000.
