Early All-In for Bjorin

On what I believe was the first hand of the day, Chris Bjorin opened his button, Faraz Jaka three-bet to 5,900 in the big blind and Bjorin immediately flat-called.

On the {4-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} flop, Jaka checked, allowing Bjorin to push all in for 15,875. Jaka released his hand.

Cards in the Air!

The "shuffle up and deal" announcement has been made and the cards are in the air for Day 2.

Before the event started up again today, we asked Daniel Negreanu how he feels going into it and if he thinks he's going to make another WSOP Europe Main Event final table.

"I feel good," said Negreanu. "I know it's weird to say that, but I feel it. I feel good."

Starting Days Combine for Day 2 Action

Welcome back to PokerNews' coverage of the 2010 World Series of Poker Europe Main Event! The first two starting days have provided some great poker action, but Day 2 is the day when both of the remaining players from each day combine into one field and things get even more interesting. So far in this event, we've been blessed with one of the most elite tournament fields on the planet and it's only going to get better from here as the quest continues.

Who's got some barking chips? Well for one, 2010 Irish Open champion James Mitchell does. He's leading the remaining field of 195 players with his stack of 178,850 chips. That's quite an impressive figure, but he better keep his eye in the rear view mirror where November Niner John Dolan sits. Dolan is only a slight bit behind Mitchell with 173,700 chips.

Outside of those two big names with big chips, there are plenty of others in the top 25 counts that will be looking to make some deep runs. Faraz Jaka is always dangerous when he has a big stack and he'll come into the day with 120,125. Eli Elezra, McLean Karr, Antonio Esfandiari, Carlos Mortensen and Nick Schulman are all looming just above the 100,000-chip mark, making that bunch very dangerous. Coming into Day 2 with 94,350 is Phil Ivey and when Ivey's got chips, everyone better look out.

Daniel Negreanu has final tabled the WSOP Europe Main Event the past two years, but could only manage to get his starting stack of 30,000 up to 32,475 at the end of the day yesterday. The man that beat him heads up last year was Barry Shulman. The defending champion was able to make a nice showing on his first day of play as defending champ and will come in with 86,325. That's good enough for 30th place on the overall leader board, not too bad of a showing. The 2008 champion John Juanda will enter with 41,075 while 2007 champion Annette Obrestad failed to make it out of Day 1a.

There's a whole slew of big names and notable players in besides all of the aforementioned, but we won't bore you with any more lists. Just check out the chip count page for all of their counts and take a look at the seat draw below to see who everyone's starts out matched up against.

Play resumes again today at 12:00 noon and it's going to be a marvelous day on the felt many. For some though, it's also go to be torture and a day they'd rather forget. PokerNews is on hand to provide you all the action straight from the floor so buckle up and get ready for a great day of poker!
