The plans for the day have finally been finalized. With twenty minutes to go.
The tournament staff has just informed the players that we'll be stopping at the conclusion of this level, in about 15 minutes. The chip bags will come out one level early, and we'll call it a night regardless of how many players we have left standing.
Andrew Pantling raised in mid position to 16k and was called by the small blind before Hoyt Corkins reraised to a chunky 60k (leaving himself 180k behind). Back to Pantling who just announced, "All in," instead of pushing forward his enormous number of stacks, and when it passed back to Corkins he had a brief think before committing there and then with

Daniel Steinberg raised to 15,000 from under the gun and action folded all the way around to Barry Greenstein in the big blind. Greenstein reraised to 45,000 and Steinberg thought for a minute or two. Steinberg then slid out two tall stacks of chips to put Greenstein all in. Greenstein quickly made the call and tabled the

The flop came down 
and Steinberg spiked a set to take the lead. The turn brought the

. Steinberg wound up with a full house and the best hand to eliminate Greenstein just ten minutes before the end of the night.
Upon getting eliminated from every event, Greenstein signs a copy of his book "Ace On the River" for his opponent. He chronicles the hand that knocked him out and sticks his autograph on the inside cover. It's quite the nice gesture, especially when you've just lost a big buy-in tournament as what happened here. This one was extra interesting though.
When he saw Greenstein going to sign the book, Steinberg requested that Greenstein sign it and write something special to Steinberg's grandparents. "I hate to ask because of what just happened, but you could write something to my grandparents saying that their grandson is a very good poker player and he'll make a lot of money playing some day?" asked Steinberg. The table and Greenstein chuckled knowing that Steinberg won with only 20% on that hand.
"Not after the way you played that hand," commented Greg Mueller from across the table, joking with Steinberg.
Greg Mueller raised to 14,000 from the button and Anthony Newman shoved from the big blind for 125,000. Mueller tanked and began talking about how it was a race situation. He also said, "I told myself if he shoved I would call, I can't be a little b*tch about it now."
"I won't tell anyone," responded Newman.
"All right, it might hurt me, but I call," said Mueller.
Newman tabled the 
and Mueller felt real good about his

"Oh my god!" yelled Muelled.
The river completed the board with the 
and finalized the double for Newman.
"Jesus Murphy!" exclaimed Mueller, as the chips were sent Newman's way. Mueller was knocked down to about 150,000.

That's a wrap for Day 3!
When play began several hours ago at noon, 66 remained. A full five levels and 44 eliminations later, only 22 are left to move on to Day 4 here in the 2010 World Series of Poker Europe Main Event. Not only did we lose two-thirds of the returning field, but we also reached the money.
Still remaining are Phil Ivey, Viktor Blom, Hoyt Corkins, Arnaud Mattern and Barny Boatman. They'll all be moving on, but it's Ronald Lee with 947,000 in chips that's going to be the largest stack int her room.
Young Canadian Rudy Blondeau was the unfortunate soul who fell on the bubble after he ran 
into pocket aces. Once he hit the rail to burst the bubble, Mark Thurgood, Darren Woods and Magnus Persson soon followed. They all made it to the money as did Matt Waxman, Freddy Deeb, late arrival today Bryn Kenney and Yevgeniy Timoshenko.
Barry Greenstein was the last elimination we saw on the day and he went out in true bad-beat fashion when his aces were cracked by Daniel Steinberg's pocket tens.
