Luber the First to Fall

Level 2 : 100/200, 200 ante

It took about an hour for the first elimination to occur. It happened over at Table 39 and occurred shortly after Ben Luber lost all but 3,500 of his chips running kings into aces.

At that point, Chad Layne raised to 300 and received a call from Walter Atwood next to act. When action reached Luber, he moved all in and both his opponents called.

On a {7-}{7-}{x-} flop, Layne bet 4,500 and Atwood called to see a {6xc} turn. Layne checked and then folded when Atwood bet 12,000.

Walter Atwood: {10-}{10-}
Ben Luber: {9-}{9-}

Atwood had Luber pipped and the river bricked to bring about the first bust out of the 2019 Wynn Winter Classic Championship Event.
