Fields Gets Value From His Small Pair

Level 15 : 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

Eric Fields, raised to 5,000 from the cutoff and then called the three-bet from the player on the button.

Fields checked the {q-Clubs}{q-Spades}{2-Spades} flop, the button player bet 15,000 and Fields check-called. After both players checked the {6-Diamonds} turn Fields bet 19,000, which got a call. Fields tabled {3-Spades}{3-Hearts} for two pair, which was good enough to scoop the pot.

Wazwaz Coolered Out of the Tournament

Level 15 : 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante
Rob Wazwaz
Rob Wazwaz

We missed the elimination of Minnesota's Rob Wazwaz but he filled us in on what happened after the fact.

A couple of days ago, Wazwaz busted another big tournament here in Las Vegas after running kings smack dab into aces. Much to his dismay, that would happen against as he got his stack of 105,000 all in preflop against start-of-the-day chip leader Marko Pantelic.

Wazwaz was looking for a king, but the board failed to produce one. Just like that Wazwaz's run in the 2019 Wynn Winter Classic Championship Event came to an abrupt end.

Olisar Continues to Climb After Eliminating Roberts

Level 15 : 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

Joseph Cheong opened for 12,000 from early position and Ryan Olisar, who has been on an upward trajectory as of late, called from the hijack. Brent Roberts then moved all in for 72,000 from the big blind, Cheong folded, and Olisar thought for a bit before tossing in a call.

Ryan Olisar: {k-Hearts}{q-Spades}
Brent Roberts: {j-Spades}{j-Clubs}

It was a flip and Roberts was looking to hold to stay alive. Unfortunately for him, that proved easier said than done as the {2-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} flop paired Olisar. Neither the {7-Clubs} turn nor {a-Spades} river helped Roberts and he made his way to the exit.

Zazay Zaps Zinno

Level 15 : 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

Anthony Zinno has been eliminated, but he was nice enough to relay the hand to us that decimated his stack.

Action folded to Omar Zazay and he shoved his last 96,000. Anthony Zinno then shoved from the next seat over for his last 104,000 and the remaining players got out of the way.

Anthony Zinno: {a-Spades}{k-}
Omar Zazay: {a-}{q-}

Anthony was well ahead preflop, but things got very interesting on the [QJ9sss] flop as Zazay flopped top pair, top kicker, but Zinno had the redraw to the nutflush and he could still hit his king as well. Unfortunately none of those scenarios happened on the turn or river, and Zazay doubled up and left Zinno with only T8,000 behind and he was eliminated on the very next hand.

Dyer Nearly Quadruples Up to Big Stack

Level 16 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

The preflop action escaped us but we do know it resulted in four players getting it all in with Justin Zaki being the shortest stack and Michael Dyer the second shortest with 221,000.

Michael Dyer: {10-Spades}{10-Hearts}
Galen Hall: {a-Clubs}{k-Spades}
Justin Zaki: {8-Diamonds}{8-Spades}
Opponent: {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}

Dyer was ahead and he managed to successfully hold when the board ran out a safe {9-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{q-Spades}. Hall and the other Big Slick chopped a side pot, while Dyer doubled through them both while simultaneously eliminating Zaki from the tournament.

Tran Gets Aggressive

Level 16 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

After the under-the-gun player raised to 14,000 and Manig Loeser made the call, action folded to Trung Tran in the small blind and he upped the price to play to 47,000. The original raiser folded but Loeser made the call.

The dealer spread a flop of {a-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{5-Clubs} and Tran thought for a moment before he continued with a bet of 53,000, which was enough to Send Loeser's cards to the muck.

Wilson Sets Up Shak on the River

Level 16 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Dan Shak raised to 17,000 under the gun and Taylor Wilson called from the small blind. Both players proceeded to check both the {j-Diamonds}{k-Spades}{q-Clubs} flop as well as the {4-Clubs} turn.

When the {6-Diamonds} completed the board on the river, Wilson bet 42,000 and Shak snap-called with the {a-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}. It was no good though as Wilson had rivered a set with his {6-Clubs}{6-Hearts}.
