Welcome to Day 2 of Wynn Spring Classic $3,500 Championship

The preliminary rounds are over — mostly — and it's time for the main event, Day 2 of the Wynn Spring Classic $3,500 Championship.

Out of about 550 entries thus far, roughly 160 still remain, but both of those numbers are still set to fluctuate some. That's because registration remains open through the first two levels of Day 2 plus the 10-minute break that will take place thereafter. Considering the late buys will a playable but still vulnerable 40,000 at either 1,500 or 2,000 big blind, plenty of bullets are still expected to be fired.

Considering the prize pool is already in the neighborhood of $1.8 million, there's plenty to entice players to keep taking shots should the beginning of Day 2 go poorly for them.

Plenty of notable names have advanced, including the likes of Joe McKeehen, Matt Stout, Erik Cajelais, James Anderson, Chino Rheem, Sergi Reixach, Mike Sowers, Joseph Cheong and Toby Lewis.

Another 10 levels are on the schedule today, starting at 1,000/1,500/1,500 and ending at 6,000/12,000/12,000. The prize pool breakdown should be known and posted shortly after registration closes.

Cards are scheduled to fly at noon local time, so keep an eye on this space to continue following the action here on PokerNews.
