Stein Doubles Through Shorr

Level 21 : 15,000/25,000, 25,000 ante
Z Stein
Z Stein

A player in early position opened to 55,000 and Shannon Shorr three-bet to 165,000 in middle position. Z Stein then jammed his 305,000 stack in the hijack and only Shorr called.

Z Stein: {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds}
Shannon Shorr: {k-Clubs}{j-Clubs}

The {a-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} flop put Stein even further ahead, and he had it locked up on the {7-Hearts} turn. The {3-Hearts} completed the board as a formality and Stein's double was confirmed.

Cherie Wallace got her last 100,000 into the middle and Ardit Kurshumi was the lone caller.

Cherie Wallace: {a-}{2-}
Ardit Kurshumi: {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}

The board ran out with an ace, but there was no help for Wallace to overcome Kurshumi's queen kicker and she was eliminated in 20th place for $30,332.

Frank Pressures Kolev

Level 21 : 15,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

With a big pot of nearly 1,000,000 in the middle and {2-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{2-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{4-Spades} on the board, Boris Kolev bet 240,000 from middle position. Chris Frank thought for a moment and raised to 900,000, sending Kolev into the tank.

Kolev got away from it after several minutes and Frank took a big pot to keep pace with the top of the leaderboard.

Pavel Plesuv Eliminated in 19th Place ($30,332)

Pavel Plesuv

Just before the blinds went up and on a {j-Spades}{9-Spades}{8-Clubs} flop, Pavel Plesuv check-called a 65,000 bet in the hijack against Boris Kolev in the cutoff.

The {k-Clubs} came on the turn and Plesuv check-jammed after Kolev bet 175,000. Kolev quickly put in a chip to signify the call and hands were revealed.

Pavel Plesuv: {j-Spades}{j-Diamonds}
Boris Kolev: {q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}

Both players smashed the flop, as Kolev made the nut straight and Plesuv flopped the top set, but Plesuv needed to pair the board to stay alive.

The {4-Clubs} completed the board to send Plesuv to the rail and send the chips to Kolev, as the remaining 18 players now converge on the final two tables.

Max Lehmanski: {k-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}

Romain Lewis Eliminated in 16th Place ($34,881)

Level 22 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Romain Lewis
Romain Lewis

Romain Lewis opened to 60,000 from middle position and Max Lehmanski three-bet to 150,000 in the hijack. Action folded back to Lewis who jammed in his stack of about 700,000, and Lehmanski called.

Romain Lewis: {10-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}
Max Lehmanski : {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs}

The players were flipping and Lewis was in good shape as he made a set on the {j-Clubs}{10-Spades}{3-Hearts} flop. Lehmanski was looking for a queen for Broadway, and that's exactly what came on the {q-Diamonds} turn.

With Lewis needing to pair the board to stay alive, the {4-Diamonds} came on the river, and the French Winamax Team Pro was sent to the rail in 16th place.
