June 25 at the Wynn Summer Classic was Day 2 of the $3,500 No Limit Hold'em event, with its $6.6 million prize pool.
The day also saw two satellites award seats to the $10,400 Wynn Summer Championship, Day 1 of which begins this afternoon.
Down To 45 Players In The $3,500 No Limit Hold'em
Chip leader, Nicolas Pueta.
As the only one mainline tournament on the books, the $3,500 No Limit Hold'em ($4m GTD) drew everyone's focus. The huge prize pool had brought out big names and high rollers looking for their cut of the $6,638,925 prize pool.
From an initial field of 2,091 entries, Day 2 started with 402 players still in the game. At the end of the day's action, this was down to 45.
The start of Day 2 also saw the payouts confirmed. The top prize was set at $1,016,763 and the min-cash at $7,741, with the bubble breaking when the field reached 260 players.
Nicolas Betbese Pueta is closest to that first-place prize right now. Having started the day around 75th place with 374,000 in chips, he finished the day by bagging up 6,455,000 in chips for the overall lead.
Isaac Haxton.
On the other hand, the combined Day 1 chip leader, Pavlin Karakikov went from the biggest stack at the start of the day to the smallest at the end. He finished Day 2 with just 370,000 in chips.
Between Pueta and Karakikov are plenty of big names. From the day before's long list of sharks, high rollers, and big name pros, a handful still remain in contention.
Isaac Haxton has kept a spot in the top ten. He is currently fifth in chips with 4,415,000.
Haxton was joined in the top ten by Stephen Song (5,085,000) in third and Tom Middleton (4,645,000) in fourth.
Tom Middleton.
Andrew Moreno is just a little way behind them in twelfth with 3,000,000. Following just behind him is Roman Hrabec in 14th with 2,530,000, and Artur Martirosian in 15th with 2,465,000.
They will also be joined on Day 3 by John Riordan (910,000) and Michael Liang (420,000) further down the rankings.
These players will all be back — along with the rest of the 45 surviving players — to play down to a winner today. Action resumes at midday.
