Wynn Summer Classic: Michael Mann Leads $2.2k NLH Event With Its $4m Prize Pool
Anyone looking for action on July 8 at the Wynn Summer Classic hosted by the Wynn Las Vegas had just one option.
Day 1b of the $2,200 No Limit Hold’em event was the only tournament on — unless you include the $400 Milestone Satellite to Day 1b of the $2,200 No Limit Hold’em.
Players turned out in large numbers to play in the iconic event, putting together a prize pool just shy of $4 million.
$2,200 No Limit Hold’em ($2m GTD) Chip Counts
Day 1a of the $2,200 No Limit Hold’em ($2m GTD) left Patrik Jaros at the top of the leaderboard with 999,000. He topped a field that had hit 592 players.
Yesterday's flight of Day 1b players changed all that, knocking Jaros down to second, and installing Michael Case Mann as the chip leader with 1,093,000 in chips.
Mann led a much larger Day 1b field of 1,414 entries whic brought the total number of entries for the event up to 2,006.
However, brutal attrition on both days meant that only 248 players from both days ended play with a bag for Day 2.
As Day 2 begins later today, those 248 players return looking for their cut of a $3,981,910 prize pool. They return at midday today to play down to a winner.
