Another day of poker action, another day of guaranteed prize pools being smashed. That's how it went down on July 11 at the Wynn Summer Classic on the Las Vegas Strip.
Three poker players escaped difficult fields to win sizable amounts of money and a coveted Wynn replica trophy. Those three individuals are Damaso Benalcazar, Benjamin Grise, and Ronald Fernandez Ucona.
The series is winding down, but there are still some juicy events on the schedule left.
Damaso Benalcazar with the First Win
The first event of the day — $1,100 No-Limit Hold'em — began at noon from inside the Encore. The tournament had a $250,000 prize pool, which was easily surpassed thanks to the 356 entrants. With $347,100 in the pot, Benalcazar claimed the biggest share ($68,813).
Giuseepe Calio lost heads-up to Benalcazar for the title, but he still received $45,905 as a consolation prize. Jayden Krnyaich finished in third place for $35,307. Angelina Rich was the fourth-place finisher and took home $27,670, while Rudy Cervantes rounded out the top five with a $21,467 payday.

Benjamin Grise Wins the $10k
Benjamin Grise
Grise not only cashed in his first live poker tournament since December 2024. He also surpassed the $1 million mark in career cashes, according to The Hendon Mob.
Grise took down the $10,500 No-Limit Hold'em 6-Max event at Wynn on Friday. He beat a field of 69 entrants, and took the largest portion of the $69,000 prize pool — $215,625. To earn that money, he had to beat a tough field that included his heads-up opponent, Aleksejs Ponakovs, Latvia's all time live tournament earnings leader with over $27 million in cashes.
Ponakovs collected $138,000 for his second-place finish. Grise also outlasted the skilled third-place finisher — Igor Yaroshevskyy ($96,600). Yuan Lei (fourth place for $69,000), Weirui Tang (fifth place for $51,405), and Paulius Vaitiekunas (sixth place for $39,675) also reached the final table.

The third an final event on July 11, which started at 6 p.m., was the $1,100 No-Limit Hold'em Turbo. This one attracted 184 entrants, creating a prize pool of $179,480, exceeding the $100,000 guarantee.
Fernandez Ucona was the last player standing, an accomplishment that resulted in a $43,913 payday. The champion beat Ahmed Edali heads-up to finish things off, and the runner-up earned $26,983 for the deep run.
The rest of the top five in this event, which ran late in the night, went as follows: Third place for $19,423 (Klemens Binswanger), fourth place for $14,694 (Kuang Lee), and fifth place for $10,916 (Antoine Vranken).

Wynn Summer Classic chips.
Today (July 12), the Wynn Summer Classic has another three events on the go. All three of which will be brand new starters. Each will be of the one-day variety.
The action begins at noon with an $1,100 buy-in no-limit hold'em tournament, which promises at least $100,000 in the pot. Each level lasts 30 minutes, and players start with 30,000 chips.
At 1 p.m., the $1,100 buy-in Pot-Limit Omaha 6-Max event kicks off. This one features a $50,000 minimum prize pool with starting stacks at 30,000 chips (30-minute levels).
Lastly, the $1,100 No-Limit Hold'em Turbo begins at 6 p.m.. This $100,000 guaranteed tournament has 20-minute levels and 30,000 chips to begin play.
