Three Players Lapping the $1M GTD Field on Day 2

Cody Wiegmann
Cody Wiegmann

Cody Wiegmann will start Day 2 with the chip lead in the $1,100 NLH, a $1 million guaranteed tournament, on Wednesday at Wynn Las Vegas. But there are two others — Xingyu Liu and Mordechai Goldner — are right behind him.

The three chip leaders have a bit of breathing room from the other 100 players who advanced to Day 2 in a field that originally began with 855 runners. Alexander Tafesh sits in fourth place with 787,000 chips, a chunk off the lead but also well within striking distance.

The blinds are currently at 5,000/10,000 (10,000 big blind ante), meaning the top three players all have over 100 big blinds entering Wednesday's session in the Wynn Summer Classic. It's going to be a grind from here on out with the top 26 players all having at least 50 big blinds. The eventual winner of this no-limit hold'em tournament is going to have to earn the title.
