What are Network Jackpots?

Network Jackpots, also known as Network Progressives, refer to a very specific type of jackpot that can be offered on slots, keno, or even table games such as blackjack and pai gow, and are shared across a network of locations, machines, or tables.

These jackpots increase through contributions into any of the games across the network, and can be paid out to any eligible participant that triggers the network jackpot.

Contributions from players in different locations are added to the total jackpot payout, and each location is interconnected through a central system to combine and make up the jackpot.

How Network Jackpots Work

Network Jackpots work extremely similarly to progressive jackpots, in that every time an eligible bet is made, a small percentage of the bet is added to the total jackpot prize pool.

This prize pool continues to grow with every bet made, and does not stop growing until it is won by a player that makes a qualifying bet.

The way that this differs from a standard progressive jackpot is that these bets can be made across multiple locations. There are a set number of specific machines or tables within a network, and the jackpot can be added to or won on any single one of them.

How is a Network Jackpot Triggered?

Differing network jackpots will have different methods of being triggered, depending on the game that is involved in the network. That being said, they can be triggered at any time, by any player across the network.

The most common network jackpots are found on slot machines, and the rate at which they’re triggered can relate to the Return to Player (RTP) or the volatility of the slot. Each slot will have its own specifics relating to how the jackpot is triggered.

In a table game such as blackjack, a specific order of cards may be needed to pay out the jackpot, and in pai gow a very strong poker hand such as a seven card straight flush is needed. Once it has been triggered, all machines cross the network reset.

Every time someone plays a qualifying keno machine on a network that could span across a chain of casinos, a city, or even a country, a part of their bet is added to the total network prizepool.

When set conditions are met, such as every chosen number being hit, the jackpot pays out and is reset to what it was at first across every single connected machine.
