Lowrie Forced To Pay Toll-gate

Zack Lowrie
Zack Lowrie

Zack Lowrie entered the pot on the button with a raise to 5,000 only to have Tom 'tollgate' Grigg three-bet to 14,500 from the small blind.

The big blind passed and Lowrie made the call to see a {4-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds} flop fall as Grigg checked and Lowrie fire out a bet of 20,000.

Grigg made the call to see the {2-Diamonds} peel off on the turn and once he checked, he was again faced with another strong bet; this time amounting to 30,000. Taking a few moments to deliberate, Grigg made the call as the {J-Hearts} landed on the river and the APPT Sydney final tablist checked for the third time.

Lowrie cut out a bet of 50,000 and dropped it in the pot to put Grigg into a visibly tough decision as he began shuffling ships and contemplating his decision.

"I think you want me to call!" stated Grigg as he continued to deliberate.

Roughly five minutes went by before Grigg made the call to evoke a previous stone-dead Lowrie to drop his head and table his {A-Clubs}{8-Clubs} for a triple-barrel bluff gone wrong.

Grigg instantly rolled over his {K-Spades}{9-Hearts} for middle pair and collected the pot to soar up to 350,000 as Lowrie slid down to 65,000 in chips.
