Day 3 Completed
After nearly six full levels of play, the final table has been set for the PokerStars.net Asia Pacific Poker Tour Auckland Main Event!
Twenty-eight players made their way to the SKYCITY Auckland Casino just after midday to battle down until just a final table of nine remained. With four players needing to fall until we reached the money, action was relatively fast as Linh Tran was awarded the unwanted title of bubble boy when his top-pair kicker was dominated by Tom Grigg.
Julius Colman (23rd), Damien Wong (21st) and Luke Edwards (11th) all fought gallantly, but would up on the rail as 2009 eighth-place finisher Lance Climo's fairy-tale pursuit of back-to-back final tables fell short by just one when he bubbled the the elusive final table in 10th place.
Final Table Line-Up (average stack - 484,444)
Seat 1: Tamas Lendvai (472,000 in chips)
Seat 2: Santi Soriano Ramos (347,000)
Seat 3: Noah Vogelman (576,000)
Seat 4: Tom Grigg (616,000)
Seat 5: Ropati Toleafoa (163,000)
Seat 6: Danny Silk (250,000)
Seat 7: Danny 'Brotha D' Leaoasavaii (636,000)
Seat 8: Leo Boxell (194,000)
Seat 9: Srdjan Mitrovic (632,000)
The Godfather of New Zealand Hip Hop - Danny 'Brotha D' Leaoasavaii - is sitting atop the leaderboard after using a hot run of cards, the support of the rail and plenty of skill to amass a 636,000-chip stack. Snapping at his heels is PokerStars Online Qualifier Srdjan Mitrovic who trails by just several antes, while overnight chip leader Tom Grigg is nestled behind them.
Throw in a couple of Europeans and tournament stalwart Leo Boxell, and picking the eventual winner is still anyones guess as they will all be fighting hard to capture the $123,058 (NZ$170,000) first prize and title of APPT Auckland Champion!
The PokerNews Live Reporting Team will be back in the SKYCITY Auckland Poker Room tomorrow from 1:00 p.m NZST to provide detailed and comprehensive live coverage of all the final table action live from the PokerStars.net APPT Auckland Main Event!
With the action on Danny Silk in the small blind, he moved all in with Lance Climo making the call for his tournament life from the big blind.
Climo:
Silk:
The flop of gave Climo a gutshot straight draw to go along with his live six. The landed on the turn to leave Climo drawing to just seven outs if he was to make back-to-back final tables.
Unfortunately for the New Zealander, the river landed the to see him eliminated in 10th place for a $8,288 payday as the final table is now reached.
From the cutoff, Danny Silk moved all in for his last 125,000 and Lance Climo made the call from the button.

Climo:
The board ran out to see Silk double though to 270,000 as Climo is left crippled with 42,000 in chips.
With just one more elimination needed until we reach the final table, it is understandable that play would be relatively slow.
Consequently, the PokerNews Live Reporting Team think that you should take a look at the video our fantastic team put together from the Welcome Party on Tuesday night.
Tamas Lendvai opened to 27,000 from the cutoff and Danny Leaoasavaii made the call next to act from the button.
Lendvai fired out 44,000 on the flop with Leaoasavaii calling before both players checked the on the turn as the river landed the .
Lendvai pushed out a bet of 56,000 and Leaoasavaii made the call tabling his to best Lendvai's .
As Leaoasavaii was pushed the pot to move to 680,000, Lendvai slipped to 550,000 in chis.
Every tour and every casino around the world conduct their final table bubble play differently.
The majority see the final ten (for a nine-handed final table) merge together and play until they lose one.
However, here at SKYCITY Auckland Casino for the PokerStars.net APPT Auckland Main Event, both tables have been kept separate as two tables of five until one more player is eliminated.
Luke Edwards pushed his remaining stack into the pot from the button and Leo Boxell gave him action from the small blind.
Edwards:
Boxell:
Just like his cripple hand, Edwards would again be disgusted at the flop as it fell to see Boxell flop the nut straight.
With Edwards only drawing to running cards for a chop, the and on the turn and river would the Australian's tournament in 11th place for a $8,288 payday - which bested his result from last year of finishing in 28th.
Tom Grigg opened to 28,000 from the small blind as Ropati Toleafoa made the call from the big.
Grigg fired out 32,000 on the flop, but Toleafoa would respond with a 180,000-chip all in to force a fold from Grigg as he slipped to 350,000 while Toleafoa climbed to 250,000 in chips.
Srdjan Mitrovic entered the pot from the small blind with a raise to 25,000 only to have Luke Edwards three-bet to 75,000 from the big. Mitrovic moved all in and Edwards quickly made the call.

The flop saw Mitrovic take the lead, and after the and landed on the turn and river, he doubled to 580,000 as Edwards was left crippled to 60,000 in chips.
