The PartyPoker Premier League IV resumed on Wednesday with its “Playoff” qualifying event at the M Resort. 2nd: 13 points

Heading into the action on Wednesday, the scoreboard looked like this:

Felipe Ramos: 17 + 10 = 27
Remy Biechel: 8 + 17 = 25
Ian Frazer: 13 + 7 = 20
Mike Sexton: 5 + 13 = 18
Bodo Sbrzesny: 7 + 8 = 15
Dragan Galic: 10 + 5 = 15

Dragan Galic came into play tied for last in points and will head into the final as the short stack. He busted in sixth-place when he ran K-Q ran into Felipe Ramos’ pocket aces. Mike Sexton busted in fifth place after his top pair of queens were run down by Ian Frazer’s trip jacks. Heat two’s winner, Remy Biechel, was the next to hit the rail. He lost a race with king-jack to Frazer’s pocket nines.

Despite busting two players already, Ian Frazer bowed out when his K-T failed to find help against Felipe Ramos’ A-K. At this point, Ramos was guaranteed to head into Thursday’s final as the chip leader.

The heads-up duel between Ramos and Bodo Sbrzesny came to an end quickly. On a flop of 3-A-6 with two hearts, Ramos got it all in with a flush draw against Sbrzesny’s middle pair. The turn gave Sbrzesny two pair and he faded Ramos’ outs on the river to win the final Heat.

The final table is set with the following chip counts:

Felipe Ramos - 400,000
Remy Biechel - 330,000
Bodo Sbrzesny - 320,000
Ian Frazer - 300,000

Internet Group Qualifier

Also taking place on Wednesday was a battle between 16 PartyPoker qualifiers for one seat worth $100,000 into the Premier League Main Event. Six reached the final table with the following chip counts:

Talal Shakerchi - 320,000
Miguel Proulx - 200,000
Giovanni Rizzo - 200,000
Giovanni Safina - 190,000
Scott Wellenbach - 170,000
Paul Riggott - 140,000

Making it to heads-up play were Miguel Proulx and Giovanni Safina. The match came to an end when Proulx limp-shoved with A-2 and Safina called holding A-9. Three hearts hit the flop, keeping Safina in the lead and adding a flush draw to his hand. However, an offsuit 2 landed on the turn to put Proulx ahead.

It was not meant to be for Proulx though, as the 7 fell on the river to clinch the hand and the qualifier for Giovanni Safina, who wins a seat into the PartyPoker Premier League Main Event.
