UBOC5: Brock Parker and Kevin Saul Cash in Event #18, Final Table Event #19 0001

UltimateBet and Absolute Poker are currently hosting the fifth installment of theUltimate Bet Online Poker Championship Series. The UBOC5 is a series of 20 tournaments offering a combined $4 million in guaranteed prize money. Two UBOC tournaments were scheduled to take place on Saturday,Event #18 $100 + $9 No-Limit with Unlimited Rebuys and Event #19 $300 + $20 8-Game Mix. The Mini-UBOC, which runs simultaneously with the UBOC and offers the same tournament at one-tenth the price, also served as an excellent option for those with a limited bankroll. The winner of each UBOC tournament not only received a nice payday, but a championship watch. In addition, anyone who eliminated a Team UB pro received $200 and a UBOC T-shirt.

The first event of the evening was Event #18 $100 + $9 No-Limit Hold’em Turbo with unlimited rebuys. The tournament had a $100,000 guaranteed prize pool and drew 269 players who generated 322 rebuys and 406 add-ons. Annie Duke (240th), Phil Hellmuth (162nd), Gary “DEBO 34” Debernardi (101st), Matt Graham (82nd) and Mark “Poker Ho” Kroon (60th) represented Team UB, but couldn’t crack the elusive money bubble. On the other hand, a number of poker pros managed to make deep runs. Brock “MARIA NUCCIA” Parker finished just inside the money in 24th place while Kevin “BEL0WAB0VE” Saul made the final two tables and busted in 18th.James “MIG_NET” Mackey has been one of the top performers in the UBOC5 and added to his résumé by finishing in 14th place. A few eliminations later, Jamie “KRYPTOKILLA” Rosen became the final table bubble boy when he was knocked out in 10th place.

The final table saw Joseph “JBLAZE20” Chaplin (9th) and Michael “RUSOSTREET” Caruso (8th) make early exits, while Frank “FBONACCI” Bonacci and John “–BLACKFOURS-” May survived to do battle heads-up, with May ultimately claiming victory and the $26,000 first-place prize.
