Morten Christensen Wins World Poker Tour Vienna
The World Poker Tour Vienna Main Event ended on Sunday with Danish pro Morten Christensen taking home the €313,390 prize and his first WPT title.
Christensen began the day with 2,540,000 in chips, but was able to crawl his way to the top of the pack to take down the title.

The day began with players trading blows back and forth, but everyone keeping their head above water, until Level 26. That was when Ben Wilinofsky took out Norbert Szecsi in sixth place.
According to the WPT Live Updates Team, Wilinofsky limped in under the gun, Szecsi raised to 145,000, and Wilinofsky shoved all in for 2,035,000. Szecsi called off his last 1,485,000 and they were off to the races.
Wilinofsky held K♦J♦ and Szecsi held Q♠Q♦. Wilinofsky was drawing pretty thin, but the board ran out 8♦8♣2♦A♦A♠ giving him an ace-high flush and the pot. Szecsi received €49,100 for his sixth place finish.
Next to go was Goswin Siemsen in Level 27. Konstantin Tolokno moved all in for 945,000 under the gun, and Siemsen moved all in from the button. Tolokno was holding A♣10♥ and drawing for a ten against Siemsen’s A♥Q♥.
Unfortunately for Siemsen the board rolled out 10♠9♦5♠K♥2♦. Tolokno spiked a ten and scooped the pot bringing him to 1,400,000 and Siemsen was eliminated in fifth place, taking home €62,680.
The last four stacks battled it out for hours trading the chip lead back and forth, and it wasn’t until Level 30 that Sekularac and Wilinofsky were both eliminated in lightening time.
Sekularac went first in cooler fashion when Tolokno raised to 270,000 from the small blind, and Sekularac moved all in from the big blind. Tolokno held A♦Q♥ and Sekularac held A♥J♥.
The board ran out 9♥8♠4♠7♥7♣ and Tolokno won the pot with ace-queen high. Sekularac was eliminated in fourth place and took home €62,680
Wilinofsky was eliminated just minutes later. With the board showing of 8♣7♣5♦, Wilinofsky bet out 300,000, Christensen raised to 750,000, Wilinofsky moved all-in and Christensen called.
Christensen was holding 10♣4♣ for a club flush draw, and Wilinofsky was in the lead with 10♠9♣, a straight draw and a better ten-high than Christensen. But it all ended on the turn when the Q♣ binked for Christensen. The river was a meaningless 2♥ and Wilinofsky took home €122,910 for third place.
This put Christensen heads up with Tolokno. Heads-up play began with Christensen holding 7,400,000 and a monster chip lead over Tolokno.
Tolokno never seemed to be able to make a dent in Christensen’s huge chip lead and was eliminated in Level 32. On the final hand of heads-up play, Christensen raised to 250,000, Tolokno moved all in, and Christensen called.
Christensen held A♥8♥ and Tolokno held K♠8♠, and was dominated. The board ran out A♠Q♦9♣7♥2♠ missing Tolokno. He was eliminated in second place and took home €191,740.
Christensen, who has only three live cashes to date, qualified for the WPT event online by satellite. The €313,390 first prize is his largest cash and certainly his biggest poker accomplishment so far.
