The latest stop of the Hollywood Poker Open Season 2 is already underway at the Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course in Grantville, PA. The 10-day poker festival will culminate in a $1,800 HPO Regional Main Event on Saturday, March 3, an event that PokerNews will be covering in our live reporting section.

The winner of the Main Event will receive an entry into the season-ending $500,000 guaranteed HPO Championship Event at the M Resort Las Vegas set for June 2014. In Season 1, Ana Marquez topped a field of 631 players — which included over 200 HPO qualifiers — to win the fist-ever $2,500 HPO Championship Event for $320,189.
Last week, Toby Mathews emerged victorious in the Hollywood Poker Open Tunica Regional Championship to win $15,040 and a seat into the HPO Championship Event.
"We were thinking about going to Vegas anyway," Mathews said in a post-win interview. Matthews defeated World Series of Poker bracelet winner Jonathan Taylor in heads-up play to win the title. 2003 WSOP Main Event champ Chris Moneymaker finished in third.
Moneymaker is actually an ambassador for the HPO’s second season. As such, he will participate in various events including at St. Louis, Mo.; Charles Town, W. Va.; Columbus, Ohio; and the Championship Event in Las Vegas.
The remaining stops of the Hollywood Poker Open Regional Tournament series will run through the end of May with each stop hosting a 10-day poker festival. Remember, PokerNews will be on hand for live coverage for each HPO Main Event. Stay tuned to the PokerNews Live Reporting page for all updates from the 2014 Hollywood Poker Open!
