MSPT Announces Mid-Season Championship at Venetian During Deep Stack Extravaganza
The Mid-States Poker Tour will be making its first-ever stop in the great city of Las Vegas this summer in the Sands Poker Room at The Venetian Resort Hotel Casino during the very popular Deep Stack Extravaganza (DSE) series.
The $1,100 buy-in Mid-Season Championship will take place June 2-4 and boast a $300,000 guarantee. Day 1a will kick off at 12 p.m. PT on Monday, June 2, and Day 1b will commence at 12 p.m. PT on Tuesday, June 3. The conclusion of the event will be played on Wednesday, June 4.
The MSPT has been setting records across several states thus far in 2014 and looks to be the catalyst behind a huge, record field this June in Las Vegas. The 2014 event schedule — available on MSPTPoker.com — features 20 events in nine states with more potential events to be announced.
The Sands Poker Room at The Venetian Las Vegas is the largest poker room in Las Vegas, encompassing over 14,000 square feet. The room, newly remodeled in September 2012, has 59 poker tables, a dedicated poker cage, cash game sign-up desk, tournament registration area, and a comfortable waiting area for patrons. The luxurious atmosphere of the room is coupled with a number of player amenities including power outlets under the table at each player's seat for recharging electrical devices, a self-service coffee station, 35 large-screen televisions, tableside food service featuring an extensive menu provided by Grand Lux Café, and complimentary beverage service offering Fiji water, cocktails, and a variety of juices, soft drinks, and energy drinks.
The Sands Poker Room is known for its signature Deep Stack Extravaganza series, which is now held five times a year (February, April, May through July, September, and November). Established in 2007, the DSE initiated the new standard for tournaments in Las Vegas with deep starting stacks and generous blind structures. The summer DSE has accommodated over 1,000-player fields and has become one of the most popular tournaments in the world. This year’s summer DSE III, coordinated by The Sands Poker Room Tournament Director Thomas LaRosa, begins May 22 and runs through July 15.
