PokerStars Teams Up with the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open Championship 0001

Back in June, the Seminole Hard Rock in Hollywood, Florida moved the dates of its Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open Championship (SHRPOC) series, which features 24 events including a $5,300 Main Event with a $10 million guarantee, so as not to conflict with the European Poker Tour Barcelona. Now, the Seminole Hard Rock has teamed up with PokerStars, the title sponsor of the EPT, to offer players the chance to buy into the SHRPOC Main Event via their PokerStars account.

The SHRPOC series will return on Aug. 14 and includes another $10 million guarantee on Aug. 28 followed by a $100,000 Super High Roller on Sept. 1, both of which allow reentries. The SHRPOC Main Event begins a day after the EPT Barcelona concludes, which gives players enough time to play in all the events if they so choose.

“For the first time ever, PokerStars is offering players the option to buy into this live event via their PokerStars account. Players can only buy into one Day 1, and this option is only available until August 24,” says a dedicated page on PokerStars.com. “To buy-in, open the PokerStars lobby, head to the ‘More’ > ‘Special’ tabs and look for the ‘Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open Championship’ tournament, where you can choose from Day 1a, 1b, or 1c. The Seminole Hard Rock made headlines in the poker world last year when it announced a $10 million guarantee tournament. The $5,300 buy-in event, which exceeded the guarantee by nearly $2 million, saw Blair Hinkle defeat Justin Bonomo in heads-up play to capture the nearly $1.75 million first-place prize.
