Popular WSOP Dealer "Elvis Joe" LeVine Fatally Shot in Las Vegas Home

"Elvis Joe" Levine

The World Series of Poker lost one if its most popular and animated dealers this week. Joseph "Elvis Joe" LeVine, a 56-year-old dealer at the WSOP for nearly 30 years, was shot and killed in his Las Vegas home on Wednesday.

According to the arrest report, Marjorie Fiora, 30, was taken into custody as the primary suspect in the shooting. Arnold LeVine, Joseph's brother, told police that Fiora was swimming at the residence before she went inside where Joe was cleaning. Arnold LeVine said he heard a loud bang from inside the house and saw Fiora holding a double-barreled shotgun.

Joe Levine was rushed to University Medical Center, where he died of a gunshot wound of the chest, according to the report.

Las Vegas police said that Fiora escaped from the house nude while yelling, "I have to kill him" to LeVine's brothers, who had disarmed her. She was later found by police at a nearby residence where she had broken in and stolen a dress, according to reports. Fiora was arrested on murder, burglary, and home invasion charges.

The news of LeVine's death hit the poker community hard. LeVine was one of the most familiar faces at the WSOP year after year, known for his colorful personality and lifelike Elvis impersonations.
