MSPT Looks to Set Another Wisconsin State Record at Potawatomi Casino from Sept. 4-6
Season 6 of the Mid-States Poker Tour (MSPT) continues from August 29 through September 6 at Potawatomi Hotel & Casino in downtown Milwaukee. The stop marks the third time the MSPT has visited the property, and both prior times it's set a record for largest-ever major to be held in Wisconsin.
Back in April, the MSPT Potawatomi Main Event attracted 635 players and saw local pro Jason "GrindMentality" Mirza emerge victorious to capture the $147,529 first-place prize.
"Work hard, keep at it, as the doubters will be many, and be very honest with yourself along the way," Mirza told PokerNews after the win. "Although we as poker players feel that we deserve scores that we do not get, nothing will be handed to you, so you just have to roll with the punches and be willing to adjust as things play out."
The latest MSPT Potawatomi Main Event, an $1,100 buy-in $200,000 Guaranteed Main Event, will run from Friday, September 4 through Sunday, September 6.
"Once again we're expecting a huge turnout for the Main Event," said MSPT owner and operator Bryan Mileski. "We fully expect to demolish the guarantee, and hopefully set yet another Wisconsin state record."

"Of course, visitors to our property will still have access to all the world-class gaming, dining, and entertainment that makes our casino a top Wisconsin destination," said Jeff Gemini, Poker Room Manager at Potawatomi. "And since we’re ideally located in the vibrant Menomonee Valley near downtown Milwaukee, we’re very close to other popular tourist destinations like the Harley-Davidson Museum and Miller Park."

The Main Event will be held over three days beginning Friday with Day 1a at 4 p.m. Day 1a will play 14 levels. Saturday's Day 1b will also start at 4 p.m. and also play 14 levels. Players who advance from Day 1a are not eligible to play in Day 1b. The remaining players from each flight will combine on Sunday morning at 10:30 a.m. and play until a champion is crowned.
