Mackenzie is a regular in poker tournaments in his native Scotland and has quite a remarkable record in low buy-in events. According to his Hendon Mob page, Mackenzie has cashed in more than 90 events in Scotland and has $105,631 in winnings.
In Nov. 2016, Mackenzie finished second to Paul McTaggart in the £330 Scottish Cup for a career-best score of £14,175 and now he has another five-figure score after winning the £11,500 first-place prize in the 2017 Unibet UK Poker Tour Glasgow Main Event.
2017 Unibet UK Poker Tour Glasgow Final Table Results
A total of 205 players bought into the £40,000 guaranteed Main Event for £220, which meant the guarantee was surpassed by £1,000. The top 20 finishers received a share of the pot, each taking home at least £400.
By the time the nine-handed final table was set, the minimum prize had increased to £1,000, which is the sum Radoslaw Iliev collected when he bust in ninth-place.
Iliev was followed to the cashier’s cage by Christine Maschmann, Gary Leach, Darius Zyle, Andre Henning and Robert Stenegard. Third-place went to Rauno Tahvonen, a Unibet Poker Ambassador who hails from Estonia.
