Coolbet Open Returns to Tallinn on Nov. 12-17

The Coolbet Open is back for its fourth edition.

The Coolbet Open returns to the Estonian capital of Tallinn at the Olympic Park Casino and the Hilton Tallinn Park on Nov. 12-17.

The festival will feature 27 action-packed tournaments highlighted by the Coolbet Open €550 Main Event on November 13-16. The schedule was designed by famous tournament director Teresa Nousiainen and PokerNews will be on hand to cover the Main Event as has been the case throughout Coolbet Open history.

About the Coolbet Open

The Coolbet Open is one of poker's recent success stories and has proved grassroots poker is alive and well in Northern Europe. The recreational poker festival is now on its fourth edition with the previous festival proving to be fun and lucrative for both recreational and professional poker players alike. Hundreds of players qualify for each festival through the Coolbet Poker client and are joined by many others looking for a great time full of quality poker action.

The festival began in May 2018 when Finland's Sebastian Wahl outlasted a field of 425 entrants to win the inaugural Coolbet Open Main Event for €50,100.

The Main Event then set an Estonian record for the largest field in a €550 Main Event during its second edition in October 2018 when 587 entrants generated a €285,665 prize pool. Norway's Mats Albertsen won the event for €60,510 after agreeing to a heads-up deal with country-mate Nicolai Aubert (second - €47,190). Finland's Mathias Siljander was also on the podium to collect the third-place prize of €26,700.

The third Coolbet Open Main Event in May 2019 attracted 531 entrants to generate a €252,685 prize pool. Albertsen had a chance to win back-to-back Main Events but bowed out in third place for €25,100. He instead swapped places with Siljander who put on a commanding performance to win the trophy and the €60,100 top prize.

Main Event Structure

The Coolbet Open Main Event offers players plenty of chances to build a big stack with an amazing structure. The tournament features two opening flights on Nov. 13-14 where players start with 30,000 in chips and 45-minute blind levels. Unlimited reentries are permitted during both starting flights and again on Day 2 until the first blind level is in the books.

Players that bag chips on the opening flights or choose to get in on the action on Day 2 will compete for two more days until a winner is crowned on Nov. 16.

Plethora of Side Events

While the Main Event is the biggest attraction of the tournament there are plenty of side events and nonstop cash games throughout the festival.

One event many players have their eyes on is the Coolbet Open €330 Deep Stack Championship on Nov. 13-14. The tournament begins at 9 p.m. allowing players to join in on the action even if they are playing in the Main Event with the starting flights ending before then.

The €330 Pokerisivut Open should prove to be another popular two-day event on Nov. 15-16, especially among Finnish players.

Other big side events include the Coolbet Open €220 WarmUp Event on Nov. 12, which awards the winner an added Coolbet Open Main Event seat, the €330 Pot Limit Omaha 4 & 5 Cards on Nov. 14, the Coolbet €110 Ladies Event on Nov. 16, and the 1K Coolbet with an €1,100 price tag on Nov. 16.

Satellites, one chip flips, and freebuys are also littered throughout the schedule allowing players to play in many of the events for a fraction of the cost.
