Andler and Piotrowski Take Titles on First Day of Irish Open Online

The first two champions are crowned in the Irish Open Online on partypoker

With the Irish Open being played online on partypoker for the first time in its history, the festival got off to a flying start yesterday, smashing the guarantees in the first to events and crowning the first champions of the festival.

The overall schedule consists of 22 events with buy-ins ranging from €162 up to €5,200, with the guaranteed prize pools weighing in at more than €2.7 million.

However, that figure looks set to be eclipsed after 441 entrants in the opening event smashed the guarantee, generating a prize pool of €132,300.

With partypoker using real names on the client throughout the Irish Open Online, it was Sweden’s Christopher Andler who took down Event #1: €100,000 GTD 6-Max. He walked away with the top prize of €18,615 seemingly after a four-way deal involving him, runner-up Qi Hu (€18,013), third-place finisher Daniel Kolozsar (€15,780) and fourth-placed Rodrigo Perez (€15,659).
