Three Events to Watch

May is a huge month for online poker players with many big festivals taking place, including the WSOP Super Circuit Online Series at GGPoker, WPT Online, the Unibet Online Series at Unibet Poker, and the Spring Championship of Online Poker on PokerStars

Throughout the month, we'll be bringing you several events that we think you should check out and add to your daily schedule, with guarantees galore and a huge array of starting flights.

Today we look at three exciting events:

Unibet Poker: Unibet DeepStack Open Online

Players have been focusing on the ongoing Unibet Online Series at Unibet Poker with more than €1 million in guaranteed prizes across 132 events from May 1-24.

One of the gems of the festival takes place this weekend with Unibet Poker hosting the inaugural Unibet DeepStack Open Online from May 15-16.

As Unibet Poker Ambassador David Lappin puts it, "it will be HUGE!"

The tournament boasts a healthy €30,000 guarantee for a €300 buy-in with a great structure mirroring that of the Unibet DeepStack Open's live format.

GGPoker: WSOPC Ring Event #11: Deepstack Bounty Hunters

The World Series of Poker Super Circuit is in full force at GGPoker.

The festival boasts 585 action-packed tournaments with more than a mouth-watering $100 million in guaranteed prizes from May 3-31.

WSOP Super Circuit Online Series

Part of the allure of this festival is that it is the first time players across the globe can win online in the comfort of their own homes one of 18 coveted WSOP Circuit gold rings.

One event to keep your eyes open for is the WSOPC Ring Event #7: Monster Stack $500K GTD on May 17 at 1 p.m. GMT / 9 a.m. EDT, where one of the 18 rings will be awarded to the winner.

The tournament features a robust $500,000 guarantee for a $200 buy-in. There will continue to be plenty of ways to get into this event cheaper with plenty of $20 satellites running at GG Poker.

The event will be streamed on the GGPokerOfficial Twitch channel with a variety of feature tables with hole cards exposed on a one hour delay.

As the title suggests, players start off with a monster stack of 30,000 in chips with blinds increasing every 12 minutes to start with a deeper structure of 15-minute blind levels kicking in at Level 16. Unlimited re-entries are available during the first 325 minutes.

PokerStars: SCOOP-24-M: $1,050 NLHE Super Tuesday SE

The Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP) was already set to be the largest of its kind at PokerStars with a mouthwatering $85 million guaranteed across the festival running from April 30 to May 19. Some of the guarantees were then boosted to bring the total up to $95 million in guarantees.

This is not all as PokerStars announced that the SCOOP will be extended through May 31 with 132 new events and the total guarantees will now be a whopping $135 million!

If you love PLO and you love knockout tournaments you can have your cake and eat it too with Event #67 on the schedule that features three PLO 6-max progressive KO SCOOP events on May 15 at 6:15 p.m. GMT / 2:15 p.m. EDT.

You should have something to choose from with $11, $109, and $1,050 buy-ins on the events with big guarantees as follows:

  • SCOOP-67-L: $11 PLO [6-Max, Progressive KO], $50K Gtd
  • SCOOP-67-M: $109 PLO [6-Max, Progressive KO], $150K Gtd
  • SCOOP-67-H: $1,050 PLO [6-Max, Progressive KO], $350K Gtd

Progressive bounties start at about half the buy-in and increase from there as the field dwindles.

The structure is better the higher the buy-in but even the $11 event features 25,000 in starting chips and 10-minute blind levels making it one of the best online PLO events to play of the year for lower stakes players.
