High Stakes Poker S8 E7: Jean-Robert Bellande vs. Rick Salomon for $360K Pot

Wednesday's latest "High Stakes Poker" episode on PokerGO was a continuation of last week’s game. However, the players agreed to make the straddle mandatory, so bumped the game to $200/$400/$800 w/ an $800 ante from the third blind.
Schwimer Runs It Twice
In the first hand of the episode, Damien Leforbes raised to $1,600 from the hijack with the 6♣5♣ and Jean-Robert Bellande called from the cutoff with the 6♠7♠. Michael Schwimer then looked down at the Q♠Q♦ on the button and three-bet to $7,000.
Tom Dwan called an additional $6,200 from the straddle with the A♥4♥, both Leforbes and Bellande called $5,400, and it was four-ways to the 2♠7♥9♠ flop. Three checks saw Schwimer bet $24,000, both Dwan and Leforbes folded, and Bellande check-raised all in.
“Oh man, oh man, I’ve got a really good hand,” Schwimer said before calling off for $135K. Schwimer asked Bellande whether he wanted to run it once or twice, and the latter said it was up to him. Schwimer said once before the hands were turned up.
“Oh wow, now I want twice,” Schwimer exclaimed. Bellande then said he would go twice as it didn’t make a difference to him. Schwimer took him up on it and it was run twice.
The 10♦ turn and 4♣ on the first run out was good for Schwimer, and while the A♠ turn on the second run out gave Bellande the flush, his lead was short-lived as the K♠ spiked on the river to give Schwimer a bigger flush. With that, Schwimer scooped the $299,400 pot.
“I should’ve just stuck with running it once,” said seemingly-frustrated Bellande. “It would’ve been less painful, especially when I heard you whine when the A♠ came off and I just knew what was coming.”
Leforbes Goes Bust
Rick Salomon was in the straddle for $800 with the A♦J♠ and watched as Leforbes raised to $2,500 from the button. Salomon three-bet it to $11,000 and Leforbes called to see a 7♦9♣J♦ flop.
Salomon bet $15,000 with top pair and called when Leforbes, who had an open-ended straight draw with Q♥10♣, raised all in for $41,900 total.
The J♣ turn improved Salomon to trips and eliminated a queen as an out for Leforbes. The 9♥ turn made it a full house for Salomon, who collected the $106,800 pot. Leforbes rebought short for $50,000, at which point the show updated the stacks for the first time.

Not the First Guy to Read Rick Wrong
Schwimer raised to $3,000 from the button holding the 7♠4♠ and Salomon called from the small blind with the 10♦8♥. Dwan then three-bet to $17,000 out of the straddle with the Q♥J♥ and his two opponents both called to create a $51,400 pot and see a K♣7♣9♠ flop.
All three players checked and the 8♦ turn paired Salomon to give him the lead. He still checked and the other two players followed suit to see the 8♣ turn.
Salomon bet $30,000 with trip eights, Dwan folded, and Schwimer signed.
“I don’t have a very good hand,” he admitted, “but I’m thinking it’s a full bluff. I’ve read him wrong all day long, but I think I’ve got him on a complete bluff right now. I’ve got to trust the gut, I’ll call.
“You’re not the first guy to read Rick wrong,” Dwan quipped as the $111,400 pot was pushed to Salomon.
Gin River for JRB
Bellande raised to $2,000 from the button with the 9♠7♦ and Schwimer called from the small blind with the 5♦3♦. Salomon came along from the big with the 8♠5♣, and with no straddle on in this hand it was three-way action to the 9♦7♣6♠ flop.
Schwimer checked and Salomon, who flopped the straight, opted to do the same. Bellande bet $5,000 with his top two pair, Schwimer folded, and Salomon raised to $17,000. Bellande called and the 4♣ appeared on the turn.
Salomon bet $25,000, Bellande called, and the 9♣ paired the board on the river to give Bellande the nuts. Salomon slowed down with a check and Bellande took his time before betting $135,000.
Salomon talked to himself a bit before paying it off. Ship the $360,800 pot to JRB!
Andress Hooks Himself a Double
Schwimer raised to $4,000 from the hijack with the 10♠9♣ and John Andress three-bet to $12,000 from the button holding the J♦J♣. Action folded back to Schwimer and he called to see the 10♥2♠7♦ flop, which gave him top pair.
Schwimer checked, Andress bet $15,000, and the former min-check-raised to $30,000. Andress called and the J♥ turn improved him to a set. Schwimer check-called a bet of $35,000.
When the 10♦ river gave Schwimer trip tens, he moved all in and Andress called off his remaining $58,000. “Not jacks, not jacks,” Schwimer bemoaned upon seeing the cards of Andress, who doubled to $272,200.
