The GG Spring Festival promised to pay out at least $150 million by the time the final champion was crowned. This massive sum was not only reached, but blown out of the water with $192,643,947 paid out!
A huge chunk of that impressive amount came from the $1,500 NLHE Main Event that “KingKongJoel” won. KingKongJoel was one of the 1,177 players who made it through to Day 2 from the 6,803 entrants.
The Main Event fell just shy of its $10 million guarantee but the prize pool was so substantial that everyone at the final table won at least $119,197.
Samuel Vousden busted in ninth for $119,197 with “gipotenuza” crashing out in eighth for $125,952. Germany’s Christopher Puetz was the seventh-place finisher and banked $211,966.
Sixth place and $282,662 was claimed by China’s “seefaceng” who was joined on the rail by Benjamin Chalot and Mats “lockdownmode” Ullereng, who walked away with $376,935 and $502,651 respectively.
Heads-up was set when “Lucky-Lucky” busted in third for $670,296. Their elimination left KingKongJoel and Zhuang Ruan to lock horns heads-up. The heads-up duo struck a deal to lessen the pay jumps, which meant Ruan collected $952,195 when he fell in second, leaving KingKongJoel to scoop $1,133,634.

Haraldstad Wins GGSF PLO Main Event
Norway’s Joachim “jochee” Haraldstad took down the PLO equivalent of the GGSF Main Event. Victory in this tournament came with a prize worth a cool $249,926.
Four of the seven finalists padded their bankrolls with six-figure prizes. Jens “Tankanza” Lakemeier ($46,539), “Suhepx” ($62,125), and Arvi Vainionkulma ($82,931) were the trio who missed out on a $100,000+ score.
Germany’s Markus “Lenbert1” Schottes saw his tournament end in fourth place and won $110,705. Hungary’s Bernard Larabi was the next to fall, his third place exit locking in $147,781.
Haraldstad and “Majki365” butted heads and locked horns one-on-one before striking a deal that guaranteed both camps more than $210,000 each.

Peters Picks Up $5250 Bounty Hunters Main Event Title
David Peters denied Adrian Mateos yet another title in the $5,250 Bounty Hunters Main Event. Some 341 players bought in and Peters outlasted them all, getting his hands on $297,105 with bounty payments included.
The final table was a star-studded affair, and any of the finalists would have made a worthy champion. Dawid Smolka and Wiktor Malinowski, both of Poland, were the first players to bow out. Matthias Eibinger and Jans Arends followed suit, before the exits of Benjamin Rolle and Jonathan Proudfoot left the waters slightly less shark-infested.
Artur Martirosian busted in third but not before accumulating a ton of bounties that saw him walk away with a combined $168,690, a prize $35,500 more than Mateos’ $135,141 haul for finishing in second place.
