888poker's $500K XL Spring Series Main Event Reaches Final Table; Champion Could SCOOP $90K+
Table Of Contents
Only eight players remain in the hunt for the 888poker XL Spring Series Mystery Bounty Main Event title after the 2,194-strong crowd was whittled to the point where only one table remains. The eight finalists return to their seats from 6:00 p.m. BST on May 27 under the watchful eyes of the 888poker Twitch channel.
The Main Event attracted 2,194 entries, resulting in a guarantee-busting $511,202 prize pool, including a $50,000 jackpot bounty. That huge mystery bounty has already been claimed and is nestled in the 888poker account belonging to "BigFish20." Should they eventually come out on top and add the $36,071 top prize to their bounty haul, they could turn their $250 investment into more than $90,000.
Estonia's "WakeUpBuddy" is the player to catch at the final table. They sit down behind a colossal stack worth 131 big blinds. Sweden's "shoveftw" returns to the action in second place with 58 big blinds, so you can see why "WakeUpBuddy" will think they already have one hand on the title.
Ukraine's "Bandurist" finds themselves at the opposite end of the chip count. When play resumes, they only have three big blinds.
Each of the finalists has locked in a $4,492 score plus whatever mystery bounties they've collected along the way. A top-five finish increases the minimum payout to $10,604, with the eventual taking home $36,071.

"BeastinPGeon" Turns $25 into $5,840 and XL Series Title
As the $500,000 Mystery Bounty Main Event was edging toward its final table, the $25 buy-in, $100,000 guaranteed Mystery Bounty Mini Event was crowning its champion. Some 4,341 players bought in, resulting in a small overlay on the six-figure prize pool.
Romania's "BeastinPGeon" will forever be known as this tournament's champion, and we're sure the $5,840 they collected from their $25 investment will come in handy. However, they weren't the biggest winner. That honor went to fourth-place finisher "barusalu" of Germany, who walked away with $12,785 courtesy of getting their hands on the $10,000 jackpot bounty.
