Wynn Summer Classic

The 2025 Wynn Summer Classic kicked off at the Wynn Las Vegas on May 21 with the $600 Seniors No Limit Hold'em ($50k GTD).

Eight weeks later, on July 14, the festival wrapped up with a pair of $600 buy-in, no limit hold'em tournaments.

Between those two days, the Wynn hosted 87 Wynn Summer Classic events, not including an array of satellites on the side.

TheWynn Las Vegas guaranteed those tournaments for $40,000,000 collectively. The prize pools totalled $69,175,810, of which $11,276,752 was paid out as first-place prizes.

The festival had big stories like Jesse Lonis's impressive hot streak and Michael Sklenicka winning the $2,339,200 first prize in the $10,400 Wynn Summer Championship with quads.

It also had smaller stories like Edson Tsutsumi winning the event on his first trip to Vegas. Or the coincidence of Michael Mizrahi winning an event on the same day that Michael Mizrachi (one more letter, tens of millions more in live tournament cashes) made the final table in the World Series of Poker Main Event.

The tentpole event of the Wynn Summer Classic was the $10,400 buy in Wynn Summer Championship a big multi-day event with a $10,000,000 guarantee.

The event smashed that guarantee; after getting 1,537 entries over the course of four starting flights, the prize pool hit $15,062,600.

Michael Sklenicka won the biggest cut of that pot, collecting $2,339,200 for winning the event and collecting a Wynn Summer Classic trophy for his mantelpiece.

Sklenicka won the event during three-handed play when he knocked out Jun Obara (2nd - $1,594,677) and Daniel Rezaei (3rd - $1,181,360) in the same hand.

All three players got it in pre-flop. Sklenicka had the worst of it with 87 against pocket kings and pocket tens. However, the board of K7888 gave him quads to take the event down.

What's Next at The Wynn?

Wynn Chips.

With the hustle and bustle of the Wynn Summer Classic done, the poker room at the Wynn is returning to business as usual for a bit. The usual daily tournaments resume and, as always, there are cash games available.

However, from August 21 to September 7, the Wynn is playing to another poker festival — the Wynn Signature Series.

This time, the festival is aimed at low-to-mid-stakes events with most of the buy ins being below a grand. However, the main event will be a $1,100 No Limit Hold’em that comes with a guaranteed prize pool of $400,000.
