WSOPC Tallinn

It’s been just under a week since the latest WSOP Circuit stop wrapped up in Tallinn, where eleven rings were awarded during a packed schedule in the beautiful Estonian capital.

The headline act came courtesy of Sweden’s Jenny Westerlund, who made history as the first woman to win a WSOPC Main Event in Tallinn. She topped a record-breaking 888-entry field at OlyBet’s Olympic Park Casino to claim €200,200 in what is the biggest score of her career. Westerlund put on a scintillating display of aggressive poker, dominating the final table to capture the maiden ring of her career.

The week also delivered a number of other intriguing storylines. Finland’s Jarkko Suokas took home the first-ever Sviten Special ring, Mathias Siljander crossed the $1 million live earnings milestone with victory in the PLO 4/5 event, and Drea Karlsen captured the Queens title after a strong turnout from female players across Northern Europe.

Check out the full results and the week that was below from another successful stop in Northern Europe's undisputed poker hotbed:

Jenny Westerlund WSOPC Tallinn Main Event

Before we had even reached a final table in this year’s WSOPC Tallinn Main Event, records had already been broken as a huge 888-runner field smashed through the €1 million guarantee for the week’s showpiece event.

By the end, only one remained. Sweden’s Jenny Westerlund emerged victorious, collecting an enormous six-figure payday and securing her place at this year’s WSOP Paradise thanks to the Ticket to Paradise package awarded to every winner during the series.

Westerlund wasted little time in asserting herself at the final table, using an aggressive strategy to great effect. The result would be a historic one, as she became the first woman to win a WSOP Circuit Main Event in Tallinn and in quick style, too.

“I don’t think I really recognise the feeling yet,” she admitted after her win. “It’ll be a couple of days before I realise I actually won all that money. It’ll make a big difference in my life,” she would continue, before posing for winner's photos holding her winning JA and surrounded by all the chips from the record-breaking event.

Sviten Special is a Hit

Jarkko Suakhas Sviten

Enormously popular in Scandinavian card rooms and sometimes referred to as “Drawmaha” (a cross between 5-card draw and Omaha), Sviten Special joined the WSOPC schedule for the very first time in Tallinn and would prove an instant success on a week or so of firsts.

Finland’s Jarkko Suokas emerged as the event's inaugural champion, overcoming a 113-entry field to claim €14,035, a Ticket to Paradise package, a WSOPC ring, and the honor of being known as the first Sviten Special ring winner.

Naturally, it was Scandinavian players who would dominate the event, with sixteen Nordic players returning on Day 2, alongside sole Dutchman Frank Visser, the only non-Scandi to make the final day, who finished 12th.

Queens of Tallinn Returns Soon

Queens of Tallinn 2025

Fans of world-class poker in Estonia will not have to wait long for the next big series. Queens of Tallinn, Europe’s first all-female poker festival, returns to the Olympic Casino from August 21–24. The four-day festival is set to deliver another packed schedule of tournaments and cash games for female players from across Europe.

The event follows a brilliant week for women’s poker in the Estonian capital, highlighted by Karlsen’s Queens title win and Westerlund’s historic Main Event triumph at WSOPC Tallinn. Big fields are expected once again by organizers OlyBet, as Europe's premier female poker festival moves into its third consecutive year.
