Iwan Jones Emerges Victoriously From the 888poker LIVE London Mystery Bounty
Table Of Contents
Earlier this week, Stephen Bean took down the £500 buy-in 888poker LIVE London Crazy 8 Opening Event for £19,603. Bean has been cashing in live events since 2006, but the latest champion of this festival's events had results dating back even further.
Iwan Jones is, respectfully, a veteran of the British poker scene. According to The Hendon Mob Database, the proud Welshman first finished in the money in April 2004 and has since racked up another 116 cashes worth a combined $1,914,345.
Jones' latest victory, the ninth of his career, came in the £440 Mystery Bounty event. The tournament attracted 187 entrants, and Jones outlasted them all. Philippe Souki, Harry Sandford, and Joe Hindry were among the pre-final table casualties.
Once at the nine-handed final table, Jones was not the player with the most earnings, despite those approaching $2 million. That honor was bestowed on a certain John Duthie, a legend of the game with $3.1 million in winnings. Duthie eventually bowed out in fourth, leaving Jones battling with Nigel Bull and Moshe Vaizman.
Jones put his vast experience to good use, eventually coming out on top for an £11,370 score plus another £6,450 in bounties.

Burr Bulldozes His Way to PLO Victory
Having reached the £440 Mystery Bounty final table and falling in sixth for £1,800, Ian Burr had the bit between his teeth when he joined 72 others in the £250 Pot-Limit Omaha 4-Card event.
Burr is a newcomer to the live poker scene and seems to have a fondness for 888poker LIVE events. In January 2025, Burr finished 17th in the £560 UKPL Portsmouth Main Event for £1,190. Four months later, he cashed in the £250 UKPL Reading Opening Voyage for £600 and finished sixth in the £560 UKPL Reading Main Event for £7,000.
Burr now has his first recorded live win after navigating to the top of the pile in the £250 PLO 4-Card event at 888poker LIVE London. He eventually found himself heads-up against Ilari Seinela in a battle for the trophy and £4,850 top prize. The winner's trophy and the bankroll-boosting sum now belong to Burr, whose live poker career has started well and is definitely one to watch in the future.
