Josh Giddey is an Australian professional basketball player for the Chicago Bulls. Born in Melbourne, Giddey was drafted by the Oklahoma City Thunder as the sixth overall pick in the 2021 NBA draft.
In 2026, he took part in the Aussie Millions. Playing in his hometown, Giddey took part in a Charity Invitational as well as the Main Event, where her performed the ceremonial Shuffle Up and Deal on Day 1a.
"It's a lot of fun," he said. "There are a lot of great players here at Crown.
"Obviously there's gonna be a big prize pool at the end of it, so we'll have to see how we go!"
Giddey had previously told Australian sports media that he was looking forward to the Aussie Millions after being introduced to the event by Jackson Warne.
“Funnily enough, poker has been a massive hobby of mine for a number of years now,” Giddey told SEN. “I watch a lot of it, I love to play it and I heard about the Aussie Millions through a good friend of mine, Jackson Warne.
“I was actually going to come back and play it anyway but then my agent got connected with CrownBet and it all came about.
“I’m super excited because I’ve always wanted to do it. I’ve always watched the World Series [of Poker] so I’m really excited to play in and to be part of the Aussie Millions Poker Championship.”
