Tie

Two hands of equal value. The pot is usually divided between tied hands that win.

What is a Tied Poker Hand?

Tied Poker Hands occur when two or more players have the exact same five-card hand strength at showdown. When this happens, the pot is split evenly between the tied players.

Ties most commonly occur when the best five cards come from the board, meaning neither player can improve the hand with their hole cards, or when both players hold identical hand rankings and kickers. If the pot cannot be divided perfectly, the extra chip is awarded according to house rules (typically to the player closest to the dealer button).
