Maiolo's Kings Topple Hassabis' Aces

Level 13 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Antonio Maiolo's standard min-raise was shoved on by George Hassabis for 100,000 and Maiolo called it off very quickly when it was folded round to him.

Antonio Maiolo: {K-Clubs}{K-Spades}
George Hassabis: {A-Spades}{A-Clubs}

The board of {K-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} sent the unfortunate Hassabis home with his aces cracked in the window.

We are now on the money bubble!

Grafton Gets Purser

Level 13 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Sam Grafton was folded to on the button and he moved all-in to pressure the small and big blinds. Andy Purser in the big blind, however, decided to call for his tournament life and to double up his stack of 41,800.

Sam Grafton: {K-Clubs}{9-Hearts}
Andy Purser: {Q-Hearts}{8-Hearts}

The board of {K-Spades}{Q-Clubs}{A-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} sent Purser home with very little hope and that brings us down to 42 players, just half a dozen from the money bubble. The first pay-out at 36th place is £1,600.

Mihu Busts Sapiano

Level 13 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Pre-flop, Albert Sapiano made it 4,000 to go from under the gun. Cristian Mihu raised to 9,000 from the button and Sapiano called.

The two men saw a flop of {J-Spades}{8-Spades}{5-Clubs} and Albert Sapiano moved all-in for the other 78,000 to his name.
Mihu had an easy call to make.

Albert Sapiano: {7-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}
Cristian Mihu: {J-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}

Sapiano was out of his chair on the flop, and we're not talking standing and watching. He was up, out and clear of the cardroom as the turn of {8-Hearts} provided a sweat he wasn't even present for. The river {5-Diamonds} made sure no-one had to go and chase him down on his way out of the door.

Sofia Lovgren has been eliminated, with James Parker winning the £888 bounty for busting the Team 888Poker ambassador.

Team 888Poker ambassador Sofia Lovgren has left the tournament. She was all-in pre-flop for around 80,000 with {A-Clubs}{8-Spades} and was called by James Parker with {A-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}.

The board of {A-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}{A-Spades}{5-Clubs} saw Lovgren run out of chips and Parker wins the hat saying he knocked out the top Swedish pro and her bounty, a very generous £888!

Grafton Grinds Down Ringe

Level 12 : 1,600/3,200, 400 ante

After Gerald Ringe opened to 6,600 from the button, Sam Grafton raised in the small blind, which Ringe called to the tune of 20,100.

The flop of {A-Hearts}{J-Spades}{A-Spades} saw Grafton continue for 15,300 and again Ringe called. On the turn of {9-Diamonds}, both me checked, but the river {10-Diamonds} saw Grafton lead for 57,000. Ringe eventually folded.

Chattha's Aces Beat Lovgrens Kings

Level 12 : 1,600/3,200, 400 ante

Team 888Poker ambassador and tournament bounty Sofia Lovgren is very short-stacked after a hand just before the break crushed her stack from six figure to five.

Charles Chattha called from early position after the under the gun player did the same. Lovgren raised to 10,300 in the next seat to Chattha and when it was folded round to him, he made it 32,000. Lovgren only called.

"The flop was jack-high, so I open-shoved," Chattha told us, "She called and I'm up to 270,000. It was really set up well for me by the under the gun player limping. As soon as she then raised I knew that she had a big hand."

While Chattha is above average with his tournament high, Lovgren has little over 20 big blinds and her bounty of £888 is looking more and more appealing to players.
