Nuts For Charlie Young

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Charlie Young opened from early position and there was one caller.

On the flop of {q-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{4-Clubs} Young bet 4,500 and his opponent called. The turn was the {7-Hearts} and Young check-called a bet of 9,000. The river was the {3-Hearts} and Young checked again. This time his opponent moved all in and Young snap-called.

"Nuts," announced Young, tabling {a-Hearts}{5-Hearts} as his opponent showed {q-Spades}{q-Clubs} for top set.

On a board of {j-Hearts}{8-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{5-Spades} Neil Barron bet 17,000 into a pot of over 35,000. Gladys Long then raised all in for around 30,000 and Barron called.

Barron showed {a-Spades}{j-Spades} for the nut flush, while Long flung her hole cards face down onto the table. The dealer then turned over the {8-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} for a set of eights, and Long was eliminated.

The Pots are Getting Bigger

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

With the blinds now at 500/1,000 with a 200 ante, the pots are steadily getting bigger, including this latest one between Alejandro Vasquez and Gladys Long.

Long raised to 2,000 preflop and Vasquez called from the hijack before the big blind also came along.

The flop was {8-Clubs}{6-Spades}{2-Diamonds}. Long continued for 2,600 and both players called. The turn was the {q-Diamonds} and it checked to Vasquez this time who bet 7,200. The big blind folded and Long called.

The river was the {k-Clubs} and Long led for 10,400. Vasquez thought for a while before raising to 28,000. Although Long did ask how much Vasquez had behind, the answer to which was around 15,000, she elected to fold. Vasquez didn't show his cards but gave Long a knowing nod as he slid them into the muck.

Pantelis Christodoulou Doubles Through Alejandro Vasquez

Level 7 : 400/800, 100 ante

The players seated in the hijack and the cutoff both limped, as well as Alejandro Vasquez from the small blind, before Pantelis Christodoulou raised to 3,400. Vasquez was the only caller.

The flop came {a-Clubs}{7-Spades}{5-Diamonds} and Vasquez check0called a bet of 3,500 from his opponent. The turn was the {k-Diamonds} and Vasquez checked a second time and Christodoulou bet 8,500. Vasquez peered round his tablemate's arm to see that his opponent had only 12,000 or so chips remaining and Vasquez moved all in. Christodoulou called.

Vasquez: {a-Hearts}{8-Hearts}
Christodoulou: {k-Clubs}{5-Hearts}

The river was the {4-Hearts} and Christodoulou doubled up.
