Kassouf Doubles Through Regonaschi to Take the Lead

Level 24 : 20,000/40,000, 4,000 ante
William Kassouf and Marco Regonaschi
William Kassouf and Marco Regonaschi

Marco Regonaschi raised to 80,000 and William Kassouf three-bet to 220,000 in order to pick up a call by the Italian.

The flop fell {6-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} and Regonaschi checked. Kassouf bet more than half of his stack of 785,000 and Regonaschi set him in, Kassouf called.

William Kassouf: {A-Diamonds}{A-Spades}
Marco Regonaschi: {5-Hearts}{5-Spades}

"Brick brick, high cards please," Kassouf demanded and got the {6-Clubs} turn and {K-Clubs} river run out. That double bumped his stack to around two million and the Brit claimed the top spot.

A Big Double for Miri

Level 24 : 20,000/40,000, 4,000 ante

Over on the feature table, Hamza Miri raised from under the gun and Besmir Hodaj three-bet to what appeared to be 180,000. The action folded back to Miri and he moved all in for 473,000. Hodaj reluctantly called and the cards were turned over.

Hamza Miri: {A-Hearts}{A-Diamonds}
Besmir Hodaj: {10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}

The board ran out {8-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}{5-Hearts} and Miri doubled to one chip shy of a million.

Tournament in Numbers

Level 24 : 20,000/40,000, 4,000 ante

With 609 total entries, just 22 players now remain in with a chance of winning €110,000 and the title of 888Live Barcelona Main Event champion.

Hacing come into play as chip leader, Cate Hall has dropped a million chips since sitting down and now sits on 1.4million. At the other end of the chipcounts, Chuc Khuu has 400,000, but that only equates to 10 big blinds. Hall's 35 blinds is no longer a huge stack in terms of depth, so we could see a very fast-paced level or two for bust-outs after just three of them in the first 90 minutes of play.

Navarro Busted by Charmed Hakli

Level 24 : 20,000/40,000, 4,000 ante
David Xarau Navarro
David Xarau Navarro

Marco Hakli certainly cannot complain about any ill favour the cards show him in the remainder of the tournament. As variance goes, he's experienced a great run of the good side of it in the first two levels here on the final day of the 888Live Main Event in Barcelona.

First, Hakli doubled by flipping well against Hall, then he doubled up to survive against Marwan Salamoun. Now he moved all-in again from the cut-off for 396,000 with {J-Hearts}{Q-Hearts} and was called by the at-risk David Xarau Navarro, who held {A-Diamonds}{K-Spades} and sat behind marginally less than Hakli.

The flop of {8-Spades}{2-Spades}{9-Clubs} saw Salamoun remain in the lead. So too did the {5-Diamonds} turn. But the {Q-Diamonds} river gave Hakli the pot of around twenty big blinds, a miracle from where he started the day's chipcounts. Salamoun, clearly disgusted with the river, swept away from the table.

Hodaj Takes His Time

Level 24 : 20,000/40,000, 4,000 ante

Besmir Hodaj made it 60,000 to go from first position and Carlos Garcia Rodriguez raised to 142,000. Hodaj made up the excess and on a flop of {A-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{5-Spades} checked his option with {A-Clubs}{Q-Spades} from this hand via the Live Stream (tab above).

Rodriguez checked behind with {10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} and the two repeated that action on the {J-Clubs} turn. The {J-Diamonds} river finally prompted a bet from Hodaj, who made it 202,000 and Rodriguez folded.
