Khuu Takes from Ruiz Garcia

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Chud Khuu defended his big blind against a raise by Jorge Ruiz Garcia and the board eventually ran out {10-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{Q-Clubs}{5-Spades} and Khuu checked. Ruiz Garcia bet 15,000 and Khuu just called, then also mentioned in table chat after that he was afraid of a possible full house.

Ruiz Garcia tabled {8-Spades}{7-Spades} and Khuu had that beat with {A-Spades}{3-Spades} for the nut flush on a paired board.

MacIntyre Busts to Pop ... Again
MacIntyre Busts to Pop ... Again

Fraser MacIntyre has been eliminated and Catalin Pop stacked far more chips, the Romanian then confirmed what happened. According to Pop, he raised to 2,500 and MacIntyre defended the big blind before check-calling a bet for 4,500 on the {K-Clubs}{J-}{6-Clubs} flop. After the {5-Spades} turn, MacIntyre check-raised all in for 35,000 with ace-king and Pop snap-called with a set of sixes.

Numbers Update

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

With 183 players remaining from today's 315 entries in the €500,000 guaranteed Main Event here in Barcelona as part of the 888Live Festival, what does it all mean, numbers-wise? We thought we'd let you know all you need to at this stage.

The 500 total entries needed to make the €500,000 guarantee are long since reached, with the current total entries sitting pretty on 591. There have already been 84 players who made Day 2 from Day 1a and Day 1b.

Oh, and in 20 minutes, the hour-long dinner break will take place and some very hungry poker players will be refueled for the last three levels of action!

Tusal Busts One

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Sofian Benaissa and Francois Evard are on table three, and Ramon Miquel Munoz was there for less than 10 minutes after having busted, re-entered and busted again.

Sebastian Tusal is among the chip leaders on that table after he just sent a short stack to the rail. Tusal raised for 2,000 on the button and the big blind shoved for 11,300. Tusal called and the big blind joked "good bye" even before the cards were tabled.

Big blind: {A-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}
Sebastian Tusal: {K-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}

The {5-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} flop gave Tusal trips and the whole table including the big blind chuckled, while the {6-Spades} turn and {10-Diamonds} river completed the board.

Torelli Flying, Matuson Falling With Style

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante
"Good for the game? I'm good for any game." Alec Torelli lights up the felt on Day 1c.
"Good for the game? I'm good for any game." Alec Torelli lights up the felt on Day 1c.

Alec Torelli is one of several players looking to make their tournament experience count at this stage, as with one level to go before the dinner break, he is up to a whopping 117,000. That's over double the 50,000 average stack.

Others are not faring as well. Stacy Matuson has called this tournament "A good warm up for the World Series of Poker" but she'll definitely be looking to run better in Vegas.

"I was moved to this table with 80,000. I lost 36,000 in a pot where it came {A-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} on the flop and I called his all-in with {A-}{K-Diamonds} and missed. A little while later, I called off 10,000 from my opponent on the turn after it came {K-}{8-}{9-}{6-} when I had pocket sevens."

Matuson has dropped from 80,000 to just 11,500 - 11.5 big blinds.

Lovgren and Saaskilahti Back; Kassouf Runs Good

Level 8 : 400/800, 100 ante

William Kassouf knocked out a short stack with {K-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds} versus {A-Hearts}{K-Clubs} over on the feature table after the board provided plenty of diamonds. It appears that the Brit moved up to more than double the average and is back at his usual table talk as well when involved in hands.

Lauri Saaskilahti re-entered and so did Sofia Lovgren, who now sits next to Valerie Ross in the main tournament area.

Small Pot for MacIntyre

Level 8 : 400/800, 100 ante

The €2,200 High Roller reunion continues over on table 12 as Peter Jaksland also arrived and raised to 1,800. MacIntyre in the small blind and the big blind called. Both the {9-Spades}{6-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} flop and the {9-Hearts} turn were checked through. On the {4-Clubs} river, MacIntyre and the big blind checked and Jaksland bet 3,500.

MacIntyre was having none of it and check-raised to 12,000, which claimed the pot without further resistance or showdown. Daragh Davey is no longer featured on that table as he has busted not long ago.
