Casanova No More

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 1,000 ante
Edgayr Casanova
Edgayr Casanova

The next round of casualties includes Fernando Pons, Alain Riss, Wassim Ayari and Edgar Casanova. The latter had been very active over on table one and faced plenty of reraises to see his stack shrink to around 128,000. Casanova pushed with ace-ten and Jonas Kannosto called in the small blind with {K-Spades}{K-Hearts}. The board came {J-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{5-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{J-Clubs} and that was it for Casanova.

Alessio Sardone: {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}

I Who Have Nothing

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 1,000 ante

The tension is definitely present on a table that was shared until the last hand by Stefan Eriksson and Lauri Saaskilahti.

Stefan Eriksson had the decision to make pre-flop, with Saaskilahti having gone all-in from the button. Eriksson called and when the big blind folded, turned over his hand of {J-Clubs}{J-Spades}.

Time passed. Trees shed leaves.

"Your hand, sir?"

"What do you have?" asked an exasperated Eriksson.

More time passed. Somewhere, a precious golden ring was thrown into a volcano.

Eventually, announcing 'I have nothing.", Saaskilahti turned over {A-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}.

The board of {Q-Clubs}{4-Spades}{10-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds} gave Eriksson the pot and slowly, Saaskilahti got up from his seat. While Eriksson stacked up 380,000, Saaskilahti made his way from the table.

Facundo Santasusana's Grind Ends

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

At dinner break on day 1c, [Removed:204] was left with a mere 6,000 from a side pot of a three-way all in and managed to grind his way into the money. However, that grind just came to an end.

In a limped pot in a battle of the blinds with William Kassouf, the Spaniard got it in even-stacked on the {7-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} flop.

William Kassouf: {7-Spades}{2-Spades}
[Removed:204]: {Q-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}

Both the {10-Clubs} turn and {4-Spades} river were blanks and Kassouf doubled for 152,000, leaving the Spaniard short. Kassouf then raised the next hand from the button while Facundo Santasusana was forced all in and showed {10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}, Facundo Santasusana had only {10-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} and found no miracle comeback this time around.

Salamoun Flushed by Puig

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Marwan Salamoun called the all-in of Jaime Victor Soler Puig and was looking a slight underdog when the cards were on their backs.

Marwan Salamoun: {J-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}
Jaime Victor Soler Puig: {A-Clubs}{Q-Spades}

The board of {3-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{7-Clubs} gave both men a flush, but while Salamoun held a king-high club-flush, Puig had the ace-high version.

Romero Done After Three-Way All In

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
Oscar Romero
Oscar Romero

Javier de Vicente Miquel shoved for 167,000 and Evgenii Cherniak shoved on the button. Oscar Romero called all in for less out of the big blind and the cards were tabled.

Javier de Vicente Miquel: {A-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}
Evgenii Cherniak: {J-Spades}{J-Hearts}
Oscar Romero: {K-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}

The board came {A-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}{K-Spades} and Romero was eliminated while Cherniak was left short.

Matuson Busts to Gascon Garcia

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
Stacy Matuson
Stacy Matuson

End of the road for Stacy Matuson in the Main Event here in Barcelona. Out of the blinds she got the remainder of her stack in with the {K-Spades}{Q-Clubs} on the {A-Spades}{K-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{Q-Hearts} turn and her sole remaining opponent Jose Antonio Gascon Garcia quickly called from two seats over.

Gascon Garcia turned over {7-Diamonds}{7-Spades} for a flopped set and the {5-Diamonds} river was a blank.

Regonaschi Gets Big

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Benjamin Garcia Rivera defended his big blind and check-shoved the {Q-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}{8-Clubs} flop with the {J-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}. Initial raiser Marco Regonaschi called with {K-Hearts}{Q-Clubs} for top pair and the {7-Diamonds} turn and {Q-Hearts} river were both bricks for Garcia Rivera.

Regonaschi then claimed a decent pot off Stacy Matuson and built his stack further.

Predaroli On Point

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Allessandro Predaroli called Ivan Lutsiv's all-in move pre-flop and was way ahead of his opponent having done so.

Alessandro Predaroli: {J-Clubs}{J-Spades}
Ivan Lutsiv: {K-Spades}{9-Spades}

The board of {6-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} saw Predaroli home with comparative ease and he has over the average stack of 330,000 (33BB) by some distance.
