Kastle Eliminated

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Nikolaos Mastrantonas and Casey Kastle were the next two players to fall in quick succession. Kastle was all in for just a few big blinds first to act and he was called by Dario Quattrucci in the big blind.

Casey Kastle: {k-Clubs}{8-Hearts}
Dario Quattrucci: {q-Clubs}{3-Hearts}

On a board of {a-Spades}{q-Spades}{5-Hearts}{5-Spades}{5-Clubs}, Quattrucci got there on the flop and sent the Slovenian to the payout desk.

Bedell Chops With Piraino; Pili on Piles

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

In the last hand before the break, Maurizio Pili scored a big double when he flopped a straight with six-trey against a set of fours.

Pili is not the chip leader, however, as that honor currently belongs to Tom-Aksel Bedell. The Norwegian three-bet over an all in by Pietro Piraino and headed into the showdown with {a-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}. Piraino had {6-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} and seemingly locked up the double on the {q-Spades}{10-Spades}{6-Spades} flop.

"Two spades please," Bedell demanded and got his wish granted with the {4-Spades} turn and {j-Spades} river.

Only very few minutes remained after the bubble had burst and that saw Pedro Gonzalez and Ciaran Burke bow out right before everyone headed into a 60-minute dinner break.

Pons Bursts the Bubble; Mehta Leaves Empty-Handed

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Fernando Pons

In the very next hand, Ankit Mehta got his last 28,000 in and he was called by former WSOP Main Event finalist Fernando Pons.

Ankit Mehta: {k-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}
Fernando Pons: {2-Hearts}{2-Spades}

"Deuces never loses" were true in this case, as the board came {a-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{3-Clubs} to let the bubble burst a few minutes before the scheduled dinner break.

Two Doubles on the Bubble

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

In a battle button versus big blind, big stack Demetrio Caminita put pressure on Henrik Ahlstroem and the Swede check-called a bet of 45,000 on the {a-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{5-Spades} turn. Ahlstroem checked again the {8-Hearts} river and Caminita moved all in.

"I think I have to call," Ahlstroem said within two seconds and called very shortly after. Since all other tables were finished, the showdown took place.

Caminita showed {6-Spades}{3-Diamonds} for a bluff and Ahlstroem had {a-Hearts}{5-Hearts} for a full house.

In the next hand, Jesus Rodriguez Lopez three-bet all in for 28,000 in the big blind and Mikael Johansson called on the button.

Jesus Rodriguez Lopez: {a-Spades}{9-Hearts}
Mikael Johansson: {q-Clubs}{2-Clubs}

The {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts}{9-Spades}{4-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} board secured the double on the turn and Rodriguez Lopez joked "nothing to see here, go back to your seats."

Ostergaard's Aces Cracked Near the Bubble

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Erik Ostergaard

Marcello Miniucchi was eliminated along with one further player from Spain, and that reduced the field to the last 58 hopefuls. Erik Ostergaard then got his stack in preflop for around 120,000 and Tom-Aksel Bedell eventually called.

Ostergaard quickly rolled over his {a-Hearts}{a-Spades} and Bedell said "I just gonna show one card" and flashed the {a-Clubs} followed by the {k-Diamonds}.

The flop came {9-Clubs}{8-Spades}{7-Clubs} and Ostergaard could barely watch it.

"Clubs!" Bedell demanded and his wish indeed came true with the {2-Clubs} turn and {4-Clubs} river. Ostergaard left in disgust, not before taking a picture of the board, and Bedell was all smiles with the words "lucky bastard."

The tournament will now commence with hand-for-hand mode on the money bubble.

Defending Champion Costin Constantin Eliminated

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Adrian Costin Constantin

Over on the feature table, defending champion Adrian Costin Constantin pushed for the last 50,000 on the button and he was called by Xavier Riera in the small blind.

Adrian Costin Constantin: {9-Hearts}{7-Hearts}
Xavier Riera: {q-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}

On a board of {8-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{10-Spades}, queen-high remained best and that spelled the end for Costin Constantin before the money.

Gregori Doubles Valenza

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Giovanni Valenza was all in for 112,000 before the flop with {q-Diamonds}{q-Spades} and Oriol Gregori put him at risk with the {k-Hearts}{10-Hearts}.

The board came {8-Spades}{4-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{a-Spades}{6-Hearts} and Valenza doubled.

Marchetti Doubles Through Burke

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

David Hu and Zhong Chen chipped up on a table that also includes Fernando Pons and Chen was involved in a three-way pot, but managed to get away from it against the action of Luca Marchetti and Ciaran Burke.

Marchetti had flopped the nuts with {j-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} on {9-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{7-Spades} and Burke had already too many chips in to fold his {a-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} for the open-ender.

"I folded kings," Chen said in table chat after the {4-Spades} turn and {2-Spades} river run out.
