Campbell Wins an Unexpected One

Level 14 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante
Leon Campbell
Leon Campbell

Picking up the action on the turn, Leon Campbell and Tan Le were heads-up on a board of AK44. Campbell checked from the small blind and Le tossed in a bet of 18,000 in the cutoff. Campbell check-raised all in and Le shrugged as he called off his stack of around 85,000.

Tan Le: A6
Leon Campbell: A8

The two players were currently chopping the pot but Le had the better redraw with a flush draw. However, the K hit the river and the table gazed over the board until they finally realized that Campbell's eigh-kicker now came into play. Le was disgusted to find out that he lost the pot and was bounced from the tournament.

Is Anyone Happy with a Chopped Pot?

Level 14 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

Conor O'Driscoll opened to 5,500 in the cutoff and "AS" shipped all in for 76,000 on the button. Steven Game asked for a count from the big blind and then also pushed all in as the big stack. O'Driscoll folded and the two hands were tabled.

"AS": AK
Steven Game: 1010

The flop came 876 and Game stayed in the lead with his pair of tens. The 9 on the turn gave Game a straight but "AS" picked up a flush draw. It was the 10 on the river that put a straight on the board and both players smirked as they pulled back their chips.

Allen Fills Up to Eliminate Zervos

Level 13 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Jack Allen opened to 5,000 in middle position and Alexios Zervos called from the big blind. The flop fell K103 and Zervos check-called a bet of 7,000 from Allen.

The turn brought the 8 and Zervos checked again. Allen tossed in a bet of 15,000 and Zervos used a time bank before calling. The K paired the board on the river and Zervos checked for the third time.

Allen shoved all in, putting Zervos to the test for his last 30,500 chips. Zervos burned through the last of his time banks before finally calling it off. Allen turned over K10 for a full house which was more than enough to eliminate Zervos with Q8.

Level 13 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Yazan Mdanat was one of the new entries to start the day but was down to just 12,000 when he pushed all in from early position. Billy Vincent Irvine called on his left and George Hassabis also pushed all in for 45,500 in the cutoff. The action folded back to Irvine who called to put both players at risk.

Yazan Mdanat: 94
George Hassabis: AK
Billy Vincent Irvine: AQ

"I'm ahead," Mdanat piped up. "Well not ahead, but I have a chance."

The board ran out JJ7Q9 and Irvine spiked a pair of queens on the turn to send both of his opponents packing.

Level 13 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Kevin Allen came into the day as one of the shorter stacks and pushed all in for 28,500 in early position. "JV" reshoved all in for a little over 50,000 on his left and the rest of the table folded.

Bluffing with the Best Hand

Level 13 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Arian Hassankashani opened to 4,500 in middle position and "PO" called from the small blind. The flop came Q52 and "PO" check-called a bet of 5,000 from Hassankashani.

The turn brought the 7 and both players checked to the 8 on the river. With four spades on the board, "PO" fired out a bet of 10,500 which Hassankashani called. "PO" reluctantly turned over JJ but Hassankashani was unable to beat it.
