Manley Secures Vital Double

Level 9 : Blinds 800/1,600, 1,600 ante
Josh Manley
Josh Manley

Josh Manley shoved from early position for his last 13,900.

"I lost a flip," he explained to PokerNews as Josee Nogues called in the next position. The remaining players all folded.

Josh Manley: {a-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}
Josee Nogues: {a-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}

Manley needed an eight, "or diamonds" he added and the flop {q-Spades}{9-Spades}{8-Spades} gave him a pair and the lead. The turn {2-Spades} did open up counterfeit outs but the river {9-Hearts} bricked and he doubled up.

Sanchez's Shove Gets Through

Level 9 : Blinds 800/1,600, 1,600 ante
Jaime Sanchez
Jaime Sanchez

The flop was {k-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{4-Spades} and Jaime Sanchez checked to his opponent who bet 3,600. Sanchez then check-raised all in for 16,600.

His opponent thought on his decision before tutting loudly and folding his hand, allowing the Manager of the Circuito Nacional de Poker (CNP) to take down a small but meaningful pot.

Josh Manley
Josh Manley

No sooner had Josh Manley doubled through Josee Nogues, Nogues then sent Manley to the rail.

Manley opened to 3,500 and four-bet all in after Nogues three-bet to 12,500. Manley held pocket jacks against the ace-king of Nogues, but they failed to hold and Manley was eliminated.

Break

Level 9 : Blinds 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

Players are going on their final 15-minute break of the day. When they return there will be two more levels before they bag up at the end of Day 1a.

Level: 10

Blinds: 1,000/2,000

Ante: 2,000

Gorgolas Above 200,000

Level 10 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

A player raised to 4,000 from under the gun and got calls from Javier Gorgolas on the button and Rodrigo Corzo in the big blind.

The flop {q-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} saw the initial raiser continue for 4,000 and Gorgolas was the only caller. The pair checked the {10-Hearts} turn and Gorgolas faced a 15,500 bet on the {4-Clubs} river.

He quickly called, and his opponent showed {k-Spades}{j-Clubs} for king-high. Gorgolas showed {10-Spades}{4-Spades} for two pair and won the pot.

Guerras Scores Double Knockout

Level 10 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Three players were in action on a flop of {j-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{5-Spades}. Both blinds checked to the button who bet 3,500. The small blind check-raised to 10,000. Daniel Guerras then re-raised to 31,000.

The button then moved all in for 88,500.

"Gamble," said the small blind before moving all in, with Guerras calling to put both opponents at risk.

Button: {k-Clubs}{j-Clubs}
Small Blind: {j-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}
Daniel Guerras: {q-Hearts}{9-Hearts}

There was something to everyone on thef lop, with top pair facing two pair facing the open-ended straight flush draw. The turn {7-Clubs} didn't improve anyone, but the {k-Spades} improved the button to a better two pair.

However, it wasn't enough as it improved Guerras to a straight to eliminate both players and move close to 400,000 in chips.
