Walden Raises Big on the River

The field was already heading off on break as Jamie Walden and Jack McDermott were still involved in a big pot.

McDermott had led out for 5,000 from the big blind on a board of 787JK before Walden raised to 30,000 in early position. McDermott spent several minutes in the tank until eventually calling.

Walden showed 88 for a flopped full house and McDermott mucked.

Dwan Catches Montgomery Making a Big Move

Three-handed on a board of Q34J, Alex Montgomery bet 5,500 from the small blind and Jamie Dwan called in the big blind, as did Paul Rigg on the button.

The river was the 8 and Montgomery moved all in for 30,000. Dwan snap-called, while Rigg got out of the way. Montgomery turned over K10 for a missed straight draw and Dwan showed 94 for a flush to win the big pot and send Montgomery to the rail.

In a blind versus blind battle, Christopher Cunliffe bet 6,000 from the big blind, Andy Calderwood raised to 15,000, and Cunliffe called.

The turn was the A and Calderwood moved all in for 23,000. Cunliffe called with AJ, but Calderwood had AQ and was ahead with his queen-kicker. The river was the 10 and Calderwood doubled up.
