Chris Da-Silva in Pursuit of a Second Title, Ravi Sheth Near the Lead on Day 1b of the 888poker Live London Main Event
In the history of the 888poker Live tour, no player has ever won two Main Event titles. Chris Da-Silva put himself in a position to change that on Day 1b of the 888poker Live London Main Event.
It was less than a year ago that Da-Silva won the 888poker Live Coventry title, beating out a field of 812 to earn the £125,000 top prize. The local grinder with nearly $1.5 million in live earnings, according to The Hendon Mob, sits comfortably inside the top 10 on the leaderboard after bagging up 220,000 to take into Day 2.
He is looking up at another player enjoying a solid summer. Ravi Sheth finished second in the High Roller a few days ago and won the record-breaking GUKPT Main Event in July for £192,700. He was already among the top stacks in the room going into the final level of the night before shoving the river on Jack McDermott, bagging up 265,500.

Those who took part but failed to advance today included Martins Adeniya, Yucel Eminoglu, Robbie Bull, Jimmy Kebe, Matthew Davenport, Michel Molenaar, and Alvaro Murciano.
The 159 entries on Day 1b brought the total field up to 264 through two starting flights. Just 60 have already secured their spots tomorrow. There are also 51 players remaining out of 96 entries in the Day 1c flight that is ongoing. Late registration remains open until the start of Day 2 at noon tomorrow. The action picks up on Level 15 with blinds of 1,500/3,000 and a 3,000 big blind ante, making the starting stack of 30,000 worth 10 big blinds at the start of play.
Players first had to survive the minefield of Day 1. Tomorrow, they’ll look forward to the money bubble and the pursuit of a spot at the final table. PokerNews will be back following all the action and providing live updates.
