Day 1bc Completed
In the history of the 888poker Live tour, no player has ever won two Main Event titles. Chris Da-Silva put himself in a position to change that on Day 1b of the 888poker Live London Main Event.
It was less than a year ago that Da-Silva won the 888poker Live Coventry title, beating out a field of 812 to earn the £125,000 top prize. The local grinder with nearly $1.5 million in live earnings, according to The Hendon Mob, sits comfortably inside the top 10 on the leaderboard after bagging up 220,000 to take into Day 2.
He is looking up at another player enjoying a solid summer. Ravi Sheth finished second in the High Roller a few days ago and won the record-breaking GUKPT Main Event in July for £192,700. He was already among the top stacks in the room going into the final level of the night before shoving the river on Jack McDermott, bagging up 265,500.

Karl Harris ended up as chip leader with 298,000, while Jamie Walden, who finished third in the 888poker Live Manchester Main Event last summer, is in second place with 278,000. Jamie Dwan (263,500) and Dimitrios Patroklou (236,000) round out the top five. Others among the 39 to make it through the second starting flight include Fraser Bellamy (215,500), Paul Vas Nunes (212,000), NPL points leader Thomas Clack (155,000), British poker legend John Duthie (128,500), Adam Wilkinson (102,500), 2022 WSOP finalist Philippe Souki (83,500), and Cedric Schwaederle (56,500).
With the Ambassador Sit n’ Go taking place at 4:30 p.m., the 888poker team sat out this flight and waited until the turbo Day 1c to rejoin the field. Those who took part but failed to advance today included Martins Adeniya, Yucel Eminoglu, Robbie Bull, Jimmy Kebe, Matthew Davenport, Michel Molenaar, and Alvaro Murciano.
The 159 entries on Day 1b brought the total field up to 264 through two starting flights. Just 60 have already secured their spots tomorrow. There are also 51 players remaining out of 96 entries in the Day 1c flight that is ongoing. Late registration remains open until the start of Day 2 at noon tomorrow. The action picks up on Level 15 with blinds of 1,500/3,000 and a 3,000 big blind ante, making the starting stack of 30,000 worth 10 big blinds at the start of play.
Players first had to survive the minefield of Day 1. Tomorrow, they’ll look forward to the money bubble and the pursuit of a spot at the final table. PokerNews will be back following all the action and providing live updates.

Stay tuned for full chip counts and a recap of the day's action.
In a blind versus blind battle, Geroe Gergely got in his last 30,000 and was up against Robert Clarke.
Geroe Gergely: K♠J♥
Robert Clarke: 10♦10♥
Gergely took the lead on the J♦5♦2♥ flop with top pair, but Clarke spiked the 10♠ on the turn to make a set. Gergely was already drawing dead as the 5♣ river sealed his elimination.

Tournament officials announced that players will see six more hands tonight before bagging up for Day 2.
Ravi Sheth bet 4,000 from the cutoff on a flop of 4♠3♠3♣ and Jack McDermott raised to 11,000 in the big blind. Sheth called and the 8♥ fell on the turn.
McDermott then led out for another 12,000 and Sheth again called. McDermott slowed down and checked the 8♠ river, and Sheth moved all in.
McDermott had around 70,000 behind and snap-folded as Sheth took the pot.

Fraser Bellamy moved all in for 45,000 from the big blind and Gholamreza Mohammadi put him at risk in the small blind.
Fraser Bellamy: A♦K♠
Gholamreza Mohammadi: A♥3♥
Bellamy had Mohammadi dominated until the flop brought J♥3♣5♦ to give Mohammadi the lead with a pair of threes. Tablemate Cedric Schwaederle let out a cry at the sight of the three as Bellamy was at risk of elimination, but he caught the K♥ on the turn to retake the lead.
The river was the 5♣ and Bellamy doubled up. "Why did you say that? Why do you have to be such a dick?" Mohammadi said to Schwaederle after the hand.
