In a blind versus blind battle, Jack McDermott and Christopher Yong saw a flop of A♦5♥3♥ where McDermott bet 3,200. Yong called and the 3♣ fell on the turn.
McDermott then bet 8,500 and Yong again called. The river was the 10♦ and McDermott tossed in two red 25,000 chips, enough to put Yong all in. Yong snap-called for his last 30,000 and turned over K♥3♦ for trips, but McDermott had flopped a wheel with 4♣2♣ to earn the knockout.
At the same table, Chris Da-Silva has built his stack up to around 140,000.
Justin Tsui raised to 4,000 in middle position, Constantin Manole moved all in for 32,500 in the hijack, and Tsui called.
Constantin Manole: J♠J♥
Justin Tsui: Q♠Q♣
Tsui had Manole crushed with his queens, and the 10♦10♠3♦7♣3♣ board provided no reprieve for Manole as he was sent to the rail.

Joshua Jones opened to 3,500 on the button, and Morreale defended his big blind. Morreale check-called a 3,000 bet on the A♣10♦8♣ flop before both players checked the arrival of the 10♣ on the turn. The K♥ completed the community cards, and Morreale bet 10,500. Jones wasted no time in tossing in calling chips, and both players revealed their hole cards.
Jones tabled Q♥J♣, while Morreale could only show J♠9♦. Jones added to his stack, having improved to the nut straight on the river just as the tournament was about to hit the 12th level of Day 1b, meaning only two more levels remain before bagging and tagging.
The third and final Day 1c, featuring 20-minute levels, has begun with 47 players currently registered, bringing the total number of entries past 300 across all three flights.
Ravi Sheth raised to 3,300 in the cutoff, Alberto Speranzoni moved all in for 14,000 on the button, and Sheth called.
Alberto Speranzoni: A♣Q♣
Ravi Sheth: K♣J♦
Sheth playfully put his cards right next to Speranzoni's and the two players jokingly offered to switch before the flop was dealt. Speranzoni, with his original cards, stayed in front on the 6♠7♦5♣ flop, but Sheth hit the K♦ on the turn to take the lead. The river was the J♥ and Sheth improved to two pair to send Speranzoni to the rail.
Liviu Bartha raised to 3,400 in the hijack, Maz Bako moved all in for 16,400 in the cutoff, and Bartha called.
Maz Bako: K♠Q♣
Liviu Bartha: 5♣5♦
The 8♥2♠4♦ flop kept Bartha in the lead with his pair, while the turn was the J♦. The river came the 6♠ and Bako made a quick exit from the tournament area.
Gordon Huntly was already all in from under the gun as Vincent Meli and Gerald McInally went to the Q♣9♥10♣ flop with around 10,000 in the middle.
Meli then bet 13,000 from the big blind and McInally called in the hijack. The turn was the 6♥ and Meli moved all in for 20,400. McInally took a minute before folding as Meli and Huntly turned over their cards.
Huntly showed 7♦6♣, but he was already drawing dead as Meli had flopped a straight with K♦J♦. The 6♦ river only gave Huntly no-good trips and he headed to the rail.
McInally admitted after the hand he folded ten-nine. "Needed a ten or a nine on the turn," he said.
At the same table, Paul Vas Nunes had built up a stack of around 160,000.
