Teodorescu Has an "Unusual" Bustout; Ji Hits the River on Duthie to Burst the Bubble
"My range is very condensed," John Duthie said as he raised to 41,000 in the hijack, leaving 10,000 behind. "Take as long as you like," he told big blind Min Ji after action folded to him.
"I have a good hand. A good Omaha hand," Ji said, taking a minute before calling. The flop came 9♥4♦7♠ and Duthie committed his last chips while Ji called.
At another table, Andrei Teodorescu was all in for 31,000 from the button and up against Akshat Bansal in the big blind.
Andrei Teodorescu: J♣10♦
Akshat Bansal: A♦7♦
Teodorescu took the lead with two pair on the K♣K♦J♠ flop, while the turn was the Q♠. The river, though, was the Q♣ to counterfeit Teodorescu's jack and earn Bansal the knockout with his ace.
"That was very unusual," tablemate Fraser Bellamy said.
Ji and Duthie then turned over their cards.
John Duthie: K♥Q♦
Min Ji: J♠10♠
Duthie was ahead with his king as the turn came the 2♦, but Ji hit the J♥ on the river to make a pair and send Duthie to the rail on the money bubble.
The remaining 44 players are in the money.
