It was a busy 2024 for the 888poker LIVE team, with five stops around Europe producing some dramatic action and memorable results.

The year kicked off in Madrid, where Manuel Ledesma took down the trophy in his home poker room. Action then moved to Bucharest, with Romania’s Razvan Morar battling back from less than five big blinds at the final table to earn the Main Event win while celebrating with his father.

Josep Valls entered the final day in Barcelona with the chip lead and held on to earn his first 888poker title, while Stephen Barnes took control of the final table action in Manchester to add a trophy to his poker resume.

The season wrapped up in Coventry, where Chris Da-Silva outlasted a massive field of 812 entries to earn the largest piece of the biggest prize pool at an 888poker LIVE Main Event since 2020.

Serrano Spikes the River to Bust Mengouchi in Massive Pot

Level 5 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante
Abraham Serrano
Abraham Serrano

Abraham Serrano limped in from under the gun and Nazariy Piznak came along from the hijack. Mourad Mengouchi then raised to 4,000 in the big blind and only Serrano called.

The flop came Q6K and Mengouchi bet 5,600. Serrano then moved all in and pat Mengouchi on the back as Mengouchi buried his head in his hands before sliding in his last 70,000.

Mourad Mengouchi: Q8 All in
Abraham Serrano: KK

Serrano showed down top set, while Mengouchi had a pair and flush draw. The 2 fell on the turn to give Mengouchi his flush, but Serrano spiked the K on the river to make quads and send Mengouchi, who had been sitting on a big stack most of the day, crashing to the rail.

Team888 Pro Ian Simpson's former seat at this table is also empty as he'll have to try again on another bullet.

"Easy Game" For Martin

Level 5 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

Carlos Martin raised to 1,500 in the cutoff and Oleh Pritsak three-bet to 6,500 on the button. Martin called and they saw a flop of 7K2.

Pritsak continued for 5,200 and Martin called. The turn was the 9 and Pritsak bet 10,500. Martin then moved all in for 30,000 and Pritsak took a few minutes before calling.

"Sevens," tablemate David McConachie said to Martin before he even turned up his cards, and Martin did indeed show 77 for a set. Pritsak turned over QQ and was left paying off the double up once the 8 fell on the river.

"Easy game," Pritsak said to Martin after the hand.

Michael Uguccioni recently took his seat at this table and has already increased his stack past 100,000.

Armanavicius Smacks the Flop For a Double

Level 5 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

With around 12,000 in the pot on a board of 29104, a player in the small blind bet 5,000 and Liutauras Armanavicius moved all in for 16,000 in the big blind. His opponent took a minute before eventually calling.

Armanavicius showed 109 for top two pair, while he was up against just ace-high as the small blind turned over AK. The A on the river wasn't enough to overcome Armanavicius' two pair and he earned the double up.
