Keith Johnson opened the action with a raise to 8,000 in the hijack. Yuzhou Yin upped the ante to 24,000 in the small blind, and Johnson came along to a 4♣6♣K♥ flop.

Yin placed a continuation-bet of 14,000, which Johnson swiftly called. Yin checked the subsequent 5♥ turn over to Johnson, who took the opportunity to move all in for 52,500.

Yin did not need long before he made the call, putting Johnson at risk of being eliminated.

Harry Sandford and Andrew Lam had created a pot worth 20,000 when Sandford checked the 7♥2♣K♥ flop from the small blind. Lam fired a bet of 12,000 in response, which Sandford called.

The 7♠ quickly checked through to the 6♣ river, where Sandford checked for a third time. Lam picked the aggression back up with a bet of 25,000, and Sandford instantly called.

Lam could only show ace-high with A♣10♣, leaving Sandford to take the pot with K♦5♠ for top pair. Just before this hand, Nick Eastwood had departed from this table to exit Day 1b.
